Yes, payment in full is required at time of making ADR. It does include both tax and tip.

I am not sure how taking people off the reservation works

If booking online and have the dining plan, MDE will recognize that you have the dining plan, so two options will show up- 1 to pay the full amount on your card or 1 to hold the reservation with you dining credits. So you would select the option to hold with dining plan credits.

If you pay in full and have to adjust, I would think they would refund the difference. That's how it worked for us when we changed the Wishes Dessert Party one year and also Pirates and Pals
