Hope someone might know the answer to this one. When we stay at the Marriott, we use the number 34 bus to travel to Disney or Val d'Europe. We have 2 children (aged 9 & 4) & I buy the carnet 10 tickets (the full price ones for myself & DH and the reduced fare ones for the kids). Today as I was putting the tickets into the machine on the bus to get stamped, the driver told me that you don't need to have ones for the children. Whenever I have paid cash on the bus, I am charged half price for them.

So, I wondering if I should or should not buy the tickets for the kids, or did I just get a driver today that doesn't charge for kids (that has happened a few times in the past when paying cash). I don't want to get on the bus & let them sit down & have the driver ask where are their tickets.

Hello :goodvibes

As they are over 4 years old you need to pay half fare for them whatever the driver says as if a ticket inspector got on you'd be fined if you can't show their validated tickets.

They don't care if you have a ticket and tell them that the driver said you didn't need it so you didn't validate, you'd be fined anyway (happened to a French friend coming from Provence where it's different again)

So you got a driver who is trying to do you a favour not charging for them but you are running a risk of getting a fine .. he could also think your 4 year old is under 4 and that you don't need a ticket for that one :)
