paying for checked luggage when using RAC

flying from orlando to columbus on airtran. When and how do you pay for your checked luggage bags when using RAC? Thanks so much!!

On your slip that you receive at your door that gives you your DME time, there will be a phone number for RAC. You call them a day ahead of time and pay for your checked bags with a CC over the phone. You will then receive a confirmation number. You give the confirmation number to the RAC folks at the resort when you check your bags.

We paid for our checked Air Tran bag when we checked the luggage the day we were flying home. We did not use DME as we had a rental car since we flew into another airport and visited other areas of FL prior to our stay at Disney. We were dropping off the rental at MCO so we were free to go to the airport when we wanted instead of the set time of DME.

They have eliminated that step and you are now able to do so right at the RAC desk.

OK, cool. We never use RAC cause of the 12 hour rule. Our flight home is usally 8:40pm, so we are long gone to breakfast by 8:40am. It is just easier to take our bags to the airport ourselves than lose that couple hours in the morning.

Yes, you read it correctly that you used to pay your fees ahead of time. Since then it has been reported that you no longer have to do that step and can go directly to RAC and pay the baggage fees.
