Paying dues while selling DVC contracts?

Hello,

I'm in the process of selling my 2 DVC contacts. I've accepted offers on them both - one is waiting for ROFR, and for the other we're waiting for the buyer to sign the initial contact (the offer was only yesterday). In both cases the buyer is paying the 2016 annual dues.

I've just received the invoice for this year's annual dues (due 1/15, past due 2/15).

So my question is whether I should pay the dues or not - I don't really want to since the buyer has agreed to pay and I'd have to get the dues back during closing. But closing might well be after 2/15. Will it be a problem if my dues are unpaid?

Dues are past due on 2/15, if you won't close prior to then IMO you pay now and get refunded at closing.

What does your broker that you are paying say?

For all of the contracts we bought where the buyer paid annual dues on the existing points, the amount was reimbursed to the seller as annual dues had already been paid.

Thanks. The broker has also suggested paying and getting the dues reimbursed at closing, so I will do that.
