Paying cash for part of your stay

We want to reserve a SSR GV for our DD's wedding, but will have to leave 1 day earlier than we would like - we will be out of points. Can we pay cash for that one night in a GV? Is that something that you do through MS at the time of the points ressie, or do we need to call Disney reservations for that? Can you pay cash for a GV - just asking makes me cringe, I can just guess how expensive that must be.....

It is $1385 per night, in March 2006. It might be more next year. Availability is limited.

You could only do that if a GV was available for cash, and that isn't a given. Most GVs are booked via MS on points, and a cash ressie has to come from cash inventory. I also have to agree with Bicker on this one...not worth the price.

Weekend nights are often available and the 25% member cash discount may also be offered for those nights. We usually get a cash GV at HH for Saturday night and then stay on points from Sunday thru Fri.

I'm surprised there's that much available. I suppose though, that folks don't want to spend the points needed for a weekend GV.

Ouch - I knew it was going to be expensive, and we probably cant get one for cash anyway b/c it would be a Thursday night. Thanks for letting me know its tough to reserve one with cash during the week. Now that you have confirmed that, we will use DFW's room block to get a discounted rate for the nights following the wedding at a resort hotel. We considered a 2BR for the wedding but have pretty much decided that we want the GV for DD, even though we have to move.
