My personal opinion is that it would give a renter of points a little extra protection, because the renter can pay with a credit card. If there is a problem with the transaction, there is a trail, and the renter can do a charge-back, getting the charge removed from their charge card, in case of a scam. For the owner of the points, the money can be credited to their account within minutes, making communication faster--In about 10 minutes a renter can pay the deposit on the points, and it's credited to my account, so that I can fax a copy of the ressie immediately. Otherwise, the renter must send a certified check by snail mail, and wait for me to return the ressie to them, which can take as much as two weeks.

paypal is great for both the renter and owner, but remember, if they renter has the money taken from their credit card, the owner ger hit with a % fee because of that. I found that out when I rented so I sent the owener a check for the difference. Also whats nice about paypal is the money is automatically taken from the renter and sent to the owenr, within seconds.
