Pay OOP for "Adult" child to save TS Credit?

On an upcoming free dining package, we paid for an "Adult" child (10+ years) ticket for our 3 year old to give us more flexibility in what we can order at TS restaurants, as the difference was only around $20.

Has anyone tried to pay OOP in a situation like this for the childs meals (IE: ordering an $8 kids entree at a 2TS credit meal rather than using credits), and then banking those credits for later use by anyone in the party?

I've tried searching for this scenario but haven't found any definite experiences on it.

Thanks!

plenty of people do this.

Just make sure to tell your server up front before ordering anything. ei

"we will be using 2 credits for this meal and paying oop for johnny's meal and drink"

Then at the end double check your receipt to make sure the proper credits have been used.
