A weird thread title - I know!

I was just wondering if any of you have tried this or any of Paul's other books/cds?

Found it in my library yesterday, so got it out and gave the book a read last night, and I have to say, I rented it with very high scepticism, but the book probably makes the most sense of any weight loss programme I've encountered.

Not done the CD yet, I'm going to burn it onto my iPod later and give it a listen tonight at bedtime.

Hopefullly this'll let me get the weight off I need to to make my wedding dress fit perfectly. As well as I've done with WW in the past it jsut doesn't inspire me at the moment. :confused3

If it's the same as the one I tried the theory was sound but in practise to difficult to use.

It stated to only eat when you are hungry - so no meals with my family and with a set meal break at work - I lasted for just one week before reality set in.

im a huge fan of WW it seems to fit with most lifesyles, i agree with Libby im afraid...i cant see it working long term

I know a few people who've tried it, and whilst they said it's got some good advice (chew your food slowly and put your fork down halfway through meals etc), this is all stuff people know they should do anyway. The people who I know tried it also packed it in after a while, and felt like it was a bit of a waste of money. Worth a try though if you think it might work for you :)

I have tried it several times and I have to say that it is the programme on which I have been most successful, I always feel really happy when I am on it and I do lose weight. Each time I have tried though after a month or so I start to slip, I stop listening to the CD and it goes downhill from there! I am going to give it anither go, I think you just have to keep listening as much as possible and keep reading the book.

Not tried it but have heard about it from a friend who did it for a few months, she shifted weight then became pregnant so stopped the programme.

I'm not knocking "diets" as I have shifted weight with weight watchers in the past and put it back on again :guilty: Earlier this year I shifted 18lbs by introducing a lot more exercise in my life and eating more like we all know we should! I felt really good, then I became unwell and was told to take things easy. I had my last op over half term and was given the all clear last week:goodvibes
Once my scars have healed I'll be going back to exercise as I really miss it now. I think I'm converted!
Anybody about to start a diet needs help and luck, so I hope it works for you and the best of luck:thumbsup2

I did it and it is definitely a sensible approach to weight loss. It worked for me initially but you have to stick at it and that is where people with a weight 'issue' usually fall down. I started to slip and need to get back on the programme. Give it a go and see if it works for you.:):)

Thanks for the input everyone.

To be honest my issue is portion size and the fact that we are eating a lot of carbs and also cheese far too frequently.

I think I'm going to do a combination of the WW Core plan, as really that isn't a 'diet' it is a very sensible list of healthy foods and allows you naughty things in moderations, and also listen to the Paul M CD at night, as I'm very open to giving it a try.

Eating a small amount of pizza, although better for you then eating a laarge amount, still isn't comparable to fish and a lovely salad and new potatoes.

We have so many WW core meals that we love that we just need to get out of the pizza/pasta/mexican habit we're in, and go back to the healthy foods we were eating before, and I need to have a week or two of letting my body get used to smaller portions.

I go to the gym at least 4 times a week, and work really hard there, so it;s not than I'm putting weight on, it's that I'm not losing as fast as I want.

I've only lost like 7lbs of the 30 I put on after my surgery last year, and it's really getting me down now.

Did you know that WW withdrew their core plan last year?

Possibly because it was easy to overeat on it - however it was a good plan if followed sensibly.

Yeah I did thanks.

I lost over 3 stone on it before, so am more than certain that I can do it sensibly.

Why I think that it and the CD together could make a good option. :)

I lost nearly 3 stone on WW too. My problem is that I know what I should be doing, it's just that I'm greedy and lazy.:rotfl:

I lost nearly 6 stone on WW points but most of it has gradually crept back on. I too know what I should be doing but don't do it.

I always think that if someone wants to know how to lose weight they should ask a fat person as they have tried most of the diets going.

On a similar point, there are two types of dieter, those who realise they have a weight problem and lose weight and keep it off. The second type are like the majority of us they yoyo - even with the best of intentions we end up back where we were.

Most slimming club consultants are of the first type and really don't understand the constant battle of the second type.
