Patricia Cornwell fans: Angelina Jolie to play Kay Scarpetta in big screen version

I was a fan of the first few Scarpetta books. The latest ones...not so much. They got way too "out there" in the believability area.

But I'd NEVER pick Jolie for that role. I think Joan Allen would be a perfect Scarpetta.

I totally agree. I used to love her books. Now they're just....strange. But then again, my screen name pretty much gives away my favorite author

I like Jodie Foster too, or Ashley Judd. I just don't get that "smart is sexy" vibe from Angelina.

Although, I must say that her performance in "The Changeling" really did impress me.

When did they start getting odd? I have only read all that remains. Am reading body of evidance and have Unnatural exposure,Point of orgin,last precent to read.

I guess I'm the only one, but I always pictured Patricia Cornwell as Kay. I guess I have no imagination and just looked at the cover

But I did watch a special where she researched Jack the Ripper and her tone of voice, use of words and confident attitude just seemed Kaylike to me.

I always imagined her as Kay too.

Angelina will be wonderful as Kay Scarpetta! She's a very versatile actress and I think she will surprise the doubters.
