Pathways revealed - Part 3: BWV to Epcot

There is always a lot of discussion on various paths at WDW, including OKW to DD, BWV to MGM, and BWV to Epcot.

So, last week while at WDW, I took the GPS receiver, and walked (and measured) the lengths of these paths.

So, here's the third report: The path from the Boardwalk Villas to the entrance to Epcot at the International gateway.

We orginally started measuring this walk from the ground level at the bottom of the steps at the exit of the lobby areas of the Boardwalk resort. We then followed the boardwalk to the right, across the bridge, and turned right following the path to Epcot. We measured up to the ticket boot area at the entrance to Epcot.

The total length as measured by the GPS was 0.36 miles .

I didn't take any photos on this walk, and am pretty confident that most DVC members are familiar with the walk. We didn't walk very fast, a measured 2.5 mph, and the walk took just under 9 minutes.

Next trip (September), I plan to measure the path from the Ft. Wilderness campground to the Wilderness Lodge and Villas at Wilderness Lodge. If anyone has anything else they're curious about, let me know and I'll try to include it.

Intereesting, so it's just about a mile from International Gateway to the entrance of the Studios (depending on the route you take thru the Boardwalk)...a nice little walk!

I have only walked this route twice. Once when I stayed at the Yacht Club and once this past trip to the Boardwalk Villas. It is interesting to me that although the path to the MGM is longer I walk that more often than the shorter trek to Epcot. I guess the boat taxi that goes directly to Epcot from the Boardwalk is a plus for me. Take care, Tammy

TroyWDW, those are great suggestions. I'll plan on measuring those next trip (September).

Hey CaskBill....very cool again! Thanks for the info.

In addition to the walk around World Showcase, I'd be interested in the distance around the MK starting from the circle in front of the castle, across the bridge to Tomorrowland, up towards Fantasyland, past Pooh, Dumbo, Peter Pan, past the old Fantasyland Skyway entrance and Haunted Mansion, on down through Liberty Square and into Frontierland, past the start of the bridge by Splash Mt., into and through Adventureland, over the bridge by the Crystal Palace and back to the circle in front of the castle again. Basically the main circuit through the MK. I don't know how many millions of times I've walked that route.

You're making me want to get a GPS gizmo myself!

I've always wanted to know the distance from BWV to various spots, and now I do, thanks to you.
Just wondering if you plan on doing something similar when you're at DLR. DH and I will be out there shortly after you are and would love to see a "GPS report" from your DLR trip.

I wore a pedometer on our trip a few weeks ago. Just in case you're interested (and I really don't know why anyone would be) from the restrooms in Epcot (the ones on the opposite side of the Baby Care Center, the building right before going into World Showcase)...anyway, from those restrooms to room #4009 @ BWV is 1.02 miles. DD6 was using those restrooms right before going back to the room and she wanted to know .

I would like to know the front of the EPCOT lagoon (straight out from SE) after Illuminations to the bus stop and also back to BCV-they seem about the same to me. Then also from France bridge back to BCV and see how much closer that is.

Actually you get this in one sweep-start at the bus stop-go to the lagoon-on to the bridge area-on to BCV, although a carmel apple at Canada may be a wise decision on the way. or Rose and Crown
