Pathetic

The one that kills me is the auction for "Planning Information /Answers" It's hard to believe that someone would bid on something like this without even trying to surf the web to see if the "answers" are right there for free.

The seller even made a point of making the bidder's identities secret. It's almost like they knew someone could easily email a bidder and say "Just look on the web!"

There's actually some valuable information on Ebay for people who have never been on a Disney cruise before and didn't know where to research. I'm new to the board but I wouldn't buy something on Ebay like a Navigator because common sense tells you there has to be something out there like that - even if only through DCL. I would think they would have some sort of sample on their website or available to the public through a travel agent. All the power to those sellers who are out there to make an easy buck off some poor (ignorant?) sap. The unused mugs seem like a good deal, though - AAA intended them as a gift to be used. If someone chose not to use them and someone else can for a good price, I think that's great. I have a couple mugs from last year, but it's not worth the effort to pack and lug around for 2 weeks in Orlando prior to my cruise - they'll remain in MY cupboard indefinitely. Truth is, if I was going directly to a cruise, I would try to use them. (Here comes the wrath....)

I just don't get it..why would anyone want an old Navigator?? Unless you were the one on the cruise so you could maybe remember what was going on on YOUR trip... I laughed when my husband sold his old snake skin cowboy boots on Ebay..I said who the heck is going to buy your old shoes...well my friends, someone is walking in my husbands footsteps..he got 25 bucks for something I would have thrown away.

What a great story about the beanies! I love to hear of people making tons of money off of common things.

yeah nuke,
i loved that story too being the lucky seller. but, i've been that buyer paying twice as much for a beanie cause i missed it at the store. go ebay!! thanks.

Boy, I'm glad that I read this thread! I almost bid on one of those beanie boats because I wanted to get one for DD while on our cruise and the seller on ebay said that you can no longer purchase them on board! If this is not true, I cannot believe some of the lengths people will go to to sell something. THAT IS JUST WRONG! When I go in December, if I find one, it's mine, if not, then we'll do without.

I have also seen the AAA mugs and the seller has implied that you can buy them and use them on the cruise. My question is, if you're going to spend money on bidding and shipping these mugs off of ebay, why not just buy the mugs on the ship? Makes sense to me! Besides, what if the design changes and you can't use the mugs after all? Then it is a waste. JMHO!:)

i looked on ebay and can not find any dcl items am i not looking under the right items? where is everyone seeing all this stuff for sell on ebay? Lisa

I found some Castaway Cay sand in my swim fins after we returned home from our trip. How much do you think I could get for that sand on EBay?;)

(please notice the wink before anyone takes this seriously!)
