We will be spending the night prior somewhere near, haven't made that reservation yet. But what I am wondering is, we have an 11:30 PAT and something happens that we don't get there in time what then? I hope we would would just get worked in with the current time group.

It's no worry at all if you don't get to the port in time for your PAT. If you arrive later, when you check in you will simply receive your boarding group number and board when that number is called. If your number has already been called, you will be free to board at any time. Many times by 12:30 open boarding is announced anyway and anyone can board at that time regardless of boarding # or PAT.

No worries. On our April cruise, we had a PAT of 10:45. We stayed at the MCO Hyatt and caught the 11am Disney transfer from the airport to the port. We arrived around 12:15 to no lines and pretty much was able to walk onto the boat.
