Hi! My family will be going to Universal during the Mardi Gras season. We love New Orleans-style food and were looking forward to trying out the dishes during Mardi Gras. We have yet to try Pat O'Brien's, but if we're looking for that type of food, should we make reservations there or are we better sticking to the specialty in-park options?

Also, we will have our 8-year-old with us. I know that Pat O'Brien's has a kids' menu, but does that place turn into a wilder spot at a certain time?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

They've released the menus for this year's Mardi Gras booths. I would recommend looking them over and comparing. Orlando Informer just took pictures of the menus and had them on their FaceBook page, or if you google Orlando Informer Mardi Gras 2022 you can find most of it. It depends what type of atmosphere and eating experience you want as well, as the booths will be spread out and there's not a ton of tables to sit and eat at.

The food booths are fun but not really a "meal". We've had our 9 year old at Pat O's and it was fine. The atmosphere is so nice whether you eat inside or outside. Inside has the dueling pianos - lots of fun and nothing you would need to be afraid of for an 8 year old IMHO. The most "wild" we've ever seen it is singing along with the piano players. Hope you enjoy your vacation!
