Just used my points and gift cards from the Southwest free flight and up to $500 in free gift cards credit card offer (annual fee waived the first year) mentioned on here a few months ago. Well with under the 19000ish points they gave me I was able to get 4 one ways from Philadelphia to Orlando, then I used the $500 gift cards to pay for most of the rest. Final balance OOP $223.20 for 5 round trip tickets including tax/fees. Could have saved another $125 by taking a much earlier flight but figured I would splurge since we got such a great deal.

Thanks A1tinkfans. I almost got the lower rate just to say that I got all five tickets under $100, but I knew I would regret that on the last day of our trip when we had to leave for the airport at 6:00am.

We are leaving Monday night instead of Tuesday morning (which is great for me!) and we also got the last flight out (which I wanted). I could not have done any better. Without the offer our flights would have cost $1047 so that SW offer saved us over $1000!

What was the deal if you don't mind me asking? I booked my air fair from Philadelphia to Orlando a month ago when I seen rates going up. 4 RT tickets for $1165. Which compared to today's # for the same flights that is a $600 savings.
My mom decided to go and she and my Aunt will drive. If they can get cheap tickets they might book the air fair.

We are going out on a Wednesday night, our choice, because of my younger daughter's school obligation that morning, We are coming back very late on a Thursday. Ours would have been $1120 without the offer. We earned the points to get another $87 off but, they aren't in the account yet, and I didn't want to risk waiting. It worked out great, And I think I am going to continue to use this card instead of Disney. Even with the annual fee, I think I will do much better.

The offer has changed. Now with $69 annual fee you get 20,000 points with your first purchase. That would equal a maximum of about $333 worth of wanna get away fares. You might want to google and see if anything better is being offered, when I did this the offer on the Southwest website was 2 free roundtrips, this offer I found through the Dis.
