Pat-E-Cake birthday thing (and Medieval Times)

Hi all

I was wondering if I might be able to ask a few question from some people that have been to the Pat-e-cake birthday thing.

We are booked to go in December. It starts at 4.15, but they have asked us to arrive at 4.00. Does anyone know how long it goes for?

DD wants to go to Medieval Times for her birthday dinner (so it will be after the pat-e-cake thing of course). But I am not sure what time I should book dinner. They have a 6.00 seating - which would be my preference, but I just am not sure if we will make it in time. The other option is 8.15 seating - which is really quite late for dinner if you ask me.

We will be catching a cab from DLR to Medieval Times. Does anyone know how long it would take to get there?

Thanks

xxx

I have not done the PatE Cake birthday before, but as for Medieval times, I know they ask you to be there at least an hour before show time. I think you will have to pick the later show.

The Pat E. Cake party is an hour......I'd save your money & do something else to celebrate the birthday......was not worth the $15.99 they charged & you could do a fun character meal instead. (better character interaction & you can get multiple pictures with them & autographs........)

We took a cab from the DLH to Medieval Times and it took about 10-15 minutes, I think. It's only about seven miles away.

MT is not far from DL at all, took us about 10 min. to drive there. The reviews for the Pat E Cake thing aren't great, my DD10 (when she turned 10) chose to simply have a cake added to one of our meals, so when we were eating at the Plaza Inn watching the fireworks we had a Princess cake for dessert. :) I'd skip Pat E Cake, do MT at 8 pm (and yes you do need to be there early to check in and they will have appetizers available and you can get drinks at the bar) and let her have a huge cupcake or get the cake instead. :)

We did the Pat E Cake birthday as a surprise for my DH a couple of years ago. We had a great time and have some really fun pictures from that day. Our kids loved decorating (and eating) their own cake. Plus, Pat E Cake is funny and we had one-on-one time with Mickey.
I know other people don't love it, but I wanted to give an opinion from the other side. :goodvibes

We did the Pat E Cake birthday for dd's 6th birthday and we all had a great time!!

We did the Pat E Cake thing years ago (back in 2004 to be exact) and I remember us all having a great time. It was for my dd 8th birthday and we went with my fil who had a great time as well. Back then it was cheaper, but given the price of everything at Disneyland, I thought it was an okay deal for the money. So I can give a good review of that one, even though its not a recent one! My brother has done this a few times, much more recently and they enjoyed it too.

The Mickey appearance makes it all the more worth it in my book. Honestly, a cake, some punch and some time with Mickey is worth the $15.99 at DL. At home if I wanted to pay that much for some birthday party thing I'd have a "no way" attitude, at Disney, I learn quickly a good deal is all relative!
