If I decide to try the DCL, do me and my family have to get passports made? I also heard something about port fees, do I have to pay them to, if so, how much are they?

I got a quote a while back for me and my family for about $2,000.00 is that about right?

Best intel I've found is that you will indeed need passports by June 1 for all travel outside the states. We didn't need them on the Wonder for Nassau and Castaway Cay stops, since we were cruising, but if we'd flown, we would have had to have them. Short answer- go ahead and get 'em.

Port fees are included in your ticket price.

The quote you got would depend on how many traveling, which cruise ship and itenerary, what time of year you're cruising, stateroom location, etc. You can get a ballpark idea on www.disneycruise.com, which would typically be on the high side for comparison.

Have fun!

Legally you do not and will not in the near future be required to have a Passport to cruise to Mexico, Canada or the Bahamas as long as you are departing and arriving at the same port.

However, the question you asked was if you need Passports. Many will argue that you do, because if there were an emergency flying home would be a nightmare, as Passports ARE required for flying.
