This article addresses (the fact) that "nearly a third of American workers fail to take advantage of 401(k) plans" even when employers also contribute to the plan. Do you contribute to a 401(k) each year?

Yes, we do it monthly, but dh's employer doesn't kick in anything.

Same with DH's employer. (I'm a SAHM) But when you consider that it's PRE-TAX money, and we're in a high tax bracket, it beats anything else out there, even before it earns anything. :teeth:

DW and I usually max out our contributions. My employer currently doesn't match, DW's does. :)

Yes but my employer doesn't match. We have an automatic 3% safe harbor contribution and profit sharing instead.

Yes, I am "maxed" out on my 401K. My employer matches 50 cents for each dollar contributed up to 6% of your salary. Free money plus a great tax shelter for now.

Yes, absolutely.

Company matches 100% up to 4% then additional 50% up to 6%

Can't afford to everything go to bills that have be paid.

I'm currently up to 7% a year and hope to take it up to 10% over the next couple of years. My employer doesn't do matching but I want to save it anyway.
