I called 180 days and got all of our dining reservations. The problem is my parents were going with us and my dad just lost his job. They have canceled their trip and we are now a party of 5 instead of 7. I called today to try to change our reservations and she said she would have to cancel and rebook. The second problem is that there are no other reservations to take the place. If I show up with 5 people instead of 7 will they seat us? My children would be devasted if we couldn't eat at some of these places. Any suggestions?

You will still be able to get seated if the party size has changed. Downsizing is definately easier that adding to the party.

We have a similar issue (parts of the party are waffling) and so I called dining and asked what the policy is. The CM told me the restaurant will always try to work with you, and usually the worst that will happen is a bit of a delay. But she did say if we dropped from say, 9 to 3, we could have a problem getting seated. Obviously the best thing is to switch down to what I "know" we'll need...which I will attempt once I know what that is...but if unavailable I'm figuring the same, I'll just show up. :confused3

The same thing happened to us, only we lost one due to my sister and her husband separating. We did not have to cancel any reservations, they just modified my existing ressies. The CM told me if I would not have changed the Norway breakfast from 11 to 10people, I would have been charged for the
11th person on my credit card anyway.:scared1: So, make sure any ressies secured with a Credit card are adjusted before you arrive!!!!

One time (pre-needing to put down a deposit) we had a big giant family trip to WDW and we had made reservations at Cinderella's castle for breakfast for everybody. Turns out everybody was not so interested, so it was just our family of 4. I think we called when we were there and told them of the revised number...they were so relieved...I am sure there are so many walk-ins that they would love to have some extra space.

Thanks you guy for all the helpful and positive advice! Now I know why everyone loves this board!

I wouldn't worry about it. You'll still be seated at a table appropriate for your party size. Someone else will make good use out of the larger table.;)

Have a magical trip!:wizard:
