Welcome to my Solo Trip Report for WDW June 7/11 2017 featuring my first visit to Pandora. A professional conference I attend every year is in Orlando so I'm coming down for that and of course tacking on a few extra Disney days.
Day Minus 4 - The Dress Rehearsal
Yesterday was my dress rehearsal for the trip. I packed up my things and went on a fourteen hour day trip around DC to test my training/preparations and because it's fun. Sadly it was a gorgeous spring day with light clouds and a cool breeze. I was hoping to test how well I do in the heat.
On to the trip Report:
First up, what I like to call my "Theme Park Load". All the things I carry for a long day of fun in the sun (or rain).
The Theme Park Load
It includes:
Cargo Shorts / Fishing Shirt - 13 Total pockets. One of the advantages of being an older married gentleman, I still wear cargo shorts anytime I want.
Hat / Sunglasses - The hat has a built in squeegee bar in the brim to keep sweat out of my face.
Lanyard - With attached water bottle holder.
Sunscreen / Hand Wipes - Small single use sun screen packets 2/day along with wet hand-wipes to get my hands clean after applying it or when I get melted ice cream on them. Sticky hands are the worst.
Magic band - Of course you need one of these.
Fitbit tracker - I'll be posting my daily steps in my updates.
Cell phone - Of course.
Cell phone battery - I have the Fuel Rod battery you can switch out for a fresh one in the parks.
Rain Poncho - I carry two, one in each back pocket. That way if it rains/stop/rains again later in the day I don't have to carry a wet poncho around. Also they provide a little extra padding so that's a good thing.
Lens Cleaner/Cloth - For glasses and camera. Don't leave home without these.
First Aid kit - Advil, Band-aids, Chap stick, and Napkin or two. I carry two tubes of chap stick, one for lips and the other for umm, any body part that chafes. Works wonders.
Wallet/Cash - Even with Magic Band's I still like to have some cash.
Watch - Smart watch to get calendar alerts. I add all my FP+'s and dining reservations to my calendar so I get reminders.
Running Shoes and good socks
That's what I carry for a full day of theme park fun. Almost. There is one important item I forgot on my dress rehearsal. Any guesses?
Dress rehearsal total steps: 26, 345
