My family and another would like to dine together at 50's Prime Time, but weren't able to find a table for 8. Instead, we found two tables of 4, within 5 minutes of each other. Disney Dining will not combine the reservations. Has anyone been in a situation like this and were able to still sit with the other party? Any tips/advice? TIA!

They only have one or two tables that can seat 8, if I recall rightly. You may have to sit at two tables of 4 if parties of 8 spoke for the tables in advance of you, which it sounds like they did.

When you check in at the restaurant, let the castmembers know that you would like to sit together if possible. While there is no guarantee, the castmembers will do their best to seat you all together, but be prepared to wait longer, be seated at adjacent tables or completely across the room from one another.

When you made the reservations it was for 2 separate tables for 4 and not for a party of 8. There is no way that the dining line can combine the reservations because there weren't any available 8 tops at the time you called. Keep checking online or subscribe to the cancellation thread for your month at the top of the Dining Reservations board.
