Party of 5 now a party of 7 Cali Grill

So I was just informed that 2 family members that live in Florida will be joining us for Dinner on a my Cali Grill night FML.. Of course there is no availability for 7 or even 2 yes I checked. They did this to me 2 years ago and the restaurant accommodated us but I know it has gained popularity over the years so I was wondering what anyone's thoughts are if it is impossible or improbable that they will we are able to add 2 when I show up if I cant secure a reservation beforehand? Any and all comments are welcome

Have you called Disney dining to see if they can add two people? If that doesn't work, keep checking 4+ times a day for a table for 8.

The line I give people is that if you can't make a reservation, they consider themselves booked. Of course, there's a possibility they can seat you (a party of 7 showing up with just 5, a last minute cancellation or no show). It's not my understanding that anything is regularly held back for walk up dining. Your party can try showing up early and asking to be accommodated, but as you know, it's a crap shoot. They may or may not be able to seat you. I think you'll find that if you canvas people you'll find folks who say they can get a walk up anytime and folks that will tell you they can't even accommodate an extra baby in arms. All you can do is try.

Why 8?

Because in general, you're much more likely to find a table for 8 than 7. It's an odd computer system.
Anyway, I don't think there are tables for 7, you'll get an 8 top.

A few years ago I tried to go from 7 to 8 and was not able to do so. We had asked to IPO to try and they did, but no good. CG has some round booth things that you can have 7 but no more seated at.

I will tell you that I had asked my family members in teh area to tell me when they planned to join us for meals so I could schedule them. Of course we never heard and all of a sudden there was a mad dash to add them in. I was pretty clear by that point: I'll try but if not, you find your own meals, no way was I creating a scene because two people refused to make a commitment in case something better came up.

It's funny, CG was not able to help, but they checked at CRT that morning and were given a two top that the staff added to our table.
