Party day plans advice

We are going to our first MNSSHP on Thursday, 27th! Yay! Right now, we have breakfast reservations at O'Hana's at 11:40am. Then we were planning to go on over to MK.

But I have been thinking, (always gets me in trouble) that we should try for an early O'Hana's. And then go back to the room (AS Movies) to rest for a while until our first fast pass at 2pm.

My friend and I are both not in as good shape as when we used to stay in the parks all day. If go straight to the MK, I thought we'd just take some sit down breaks. I'm not sure the back and forth is worth it and I hate giving up any park time but I want to be able to enjoy the party.

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Personally I could not do a theme park all day and then enjoy the party from start to finish. Something would have to give. I am physically capable, but I know I would be on overload by early evening and ready to pack it in. I'd prefer to go to O'Hana, return to the room for a day by the pool and a nap, and then head to the MK around 3 to get in for 4pm. That's what we plan to do for our party (minus the O'hana). It's such an expensive ticket for 5 hour party, I want to make sure I enjoy it all! :)
Whatever you decide, I hope you have a wonderful time:sunny:.

I agree with PP. Our party day plan is to sleep in, relax at the pool, then enter the party at 4pm. We want to be well rested for the party to take full advantage and stay until close. I also wouldn't want to waste a park ticket on what would basically be a half day.

That's a long day planned if you are really going to make it until midnight at the party for a couple of folks who know they aren't in the best shape.

I'd FIRST try to move you FPs to closer to between 4-7. If you can manage that - then I'd say you can either do a breakfast 9-11 (and break back at room) or a late lunch at a monorail resort about 2-3 pm.

Or - since it sounds like you have an AP - use your FP's between 2-4, the break for a table service dinner at a monorail resort between 4-6.

You've planned a 12+ hour day from leaving room to returning to room - I'd suggest cutting that to no more than 10 hours.

Another fan for not hitting the park until 4pm. We hang around and enjoy the resort, sometimes go to Disney Springs for lunch a look around or even a movie. You want to save your energy! Do some rides. Then we have a quick service meal around 6 pm at somewhere like cosmic rays. Then back to the party. Enjoy! This is my favorite event.

Even entering at 4pm your still there for 8 hours. Most rope droppers don't do 8 hours before they take a resort break.

I like staying out later the evening before (practice for party hours). Sleeping in. Getting something light at the resort and be lazy at the resort. Maybe I'll jump into springs but I know I'll walk almost double my normal during the party so I try to just relax. Then I'll aim for a 2 or 3pm lunch/dinner somewhere on the way (or just hit the resort if being really lazy). Get into the party by 5 and have a great night.

I also usually grab some things to have in the room for when we're done because I will snack during the party but not really eat. most resorts have things like bread, packaged deli meat, or maybe if I'm on the meal plan grab some fruit and things with extra meals I wont do (snack conversion) etc in their shops (or use gardengrocer.com and have some stuff delivered earlier in your trip). This way when we get back if we need something to eat we have some options. If we don't do it, it's there for hte next day.

I'm going to vote for neither. I would stay at your resort until you are ready to go to MK for your first 2 pm FP+, get an early dinner in MK and enjoy the party. I, personally, wouldn't want to go all the way to Poly back to your resort and then back to MK. Lots of time wasted traveling. Or, keep the late O'hana and take a really relaxed approach in MK until the party starts.

I would cancel ohana and have a resort day and arrive at MK at 4pm for the party, that way you aren't wasting a ticket day for 2 hours of park time (arriving at 2pm)
