Parti Gras Pin Event All Merchandise Added

Does anyone else feel that Disney is pricing alot of us out of these events?
If I came to FL for an event I would be looking at airfare of at least $150, a hotel for the duration at about $100 or more per night, a rental car for the duration at about $50 per day,the admission to the event of $119, food about $30 per day (I won't eat much with that), and pins my average per event is about $500.
So for a 3 day jaunt to the Mardi Gras I would be looking at at least $1319.
What we need is for Disney to do is stop these outrageous admission prices and just give us an event like in the past. Looks like another event I will be skipping. Peggie

I agree that the events are becoming rather expensive.

I will be going to the Spectacle of Pins - but we had already planned on being at WDW this weekend, anyway.

I will reserve judgement for other events until after I see how this one goes. I still have not completely recovered from the Epcot Pin Celebration!;)

We were hoping that the pin event in February would be held during President's week when we are always there, but perhaps it is fortunate for us that it will take place before we arrive. How much do they feel the general public will absorb before they say enough? It's wonderful to love pins, to meet other great pin-lovers, but the thrill of attending events for many of us is easily dampened by the outrageous prices they are now charging!
Perhaps Disney might take into consideration, the people who truly do support their parks and spend their hard earned dollars in a place they enjoy! Roll back your prices - i am certain that you will find that there are many of us pin enthusiasts who will be more willing to spend at that time!

I plan to be in WDW during the event, but now may pass on going to the event. Planned to take my grandson, so he would have to spend the evening in day care even though he's a pin collector, I can't justify that price for him. Granted they had a few great give-a-way pins last year, the other pins hung around for months. I think this is a little too high for us.

I agree with Lisa. I am really going to reserve judgement until after the Spectacle of pins event. Its a lower cost, but still high, and it remains to be seen if they can justify that cost.

I think they did an excellent job with the most recent cruise. Lots of gifts, great pins, very much the way the events should be run here. I have yet to see that happen.

Last years AK event was in the same price range and I felt that it was too high for what we got. With the information Larry has on his site, I think this one is again priced too high. AK isn't on the top of everyone's list to go to and the attraction they are opening has no appeal for me, where this years AK event was kewl because of the opening of primeval whirl, which is a great attraction.

I know that I am fortunate to not have to incur the extra travel expenses, but still just looking at the event price I do agree that its too high. I hope to go, but we'll see.

I was thinking about going down for this event, but I am definitely not in a position to pay $119 per person, for a family of five. So who do I exclude? I can't think of any way this could work out fairly for my family.

Also, are these the only pins? Not much selection, in my opinion.

And finally, I have to do a major "DITTO" on Scott's comment about the attraction scheduled to be open. "It's a Bugs Life" has nowhere near the appeal of Primevil Whirl or Dinosaur.

I don't know what wonderful "surprise gifts" may be included, but this may just be out of our range. :(

Are the mini pictures with the framed pin set the only pins in the picture. For instance the Princess shows Aurora/Cinderella in frame but not in mini pictures. Does that mean they are not pins just pictures?

Bonnie

Yes. in set #26 there are 5 pins Jasmine, Ariel, Snow White, Owl & Birds.. everything else in the main frame is part of the Litho background..
Hope this helps

Robyn,

You and me...no families...I say that's fair! ;)

I agree! The prices for all of these events are way too high, but Disney knows that at this point they can get away with it. They know that if people want the pins they will be willing to pay whatever Disney demands.
Nothing will change until lots people start saying that they won't attend the events and no one buys the packages.
