Where we stayed
Three ‘venues’ in 12 nights – not too bad :D

At Gatwick
The Lawns Guests House, Horley. Rooms were comfy & full of character – fireplaces, Victorian décor, we had a split level en-suite, mam & dad had saloon doors to their bathroom lol : Walking distance of loads of pubs and restaurants and only 5 mins drive from Gatwick. 2 rooms (one family and one double), full breakfast for 6, transfers to/from Gatwick plus 13 days car parking for 2 cars £207. Not a bad alternative at such short notice after the guest house we had originally booked cancelled a few weeks earlier.

Verdict – excellent choice, not the cheapest B&B but far more affordable than the airport hotels. Very welcoming owners, quaint building in a good location.

In Orlando
Worthington Villa at Indian Creek. What can I say? What a difference to the one we’d booked through Expedia last year !! By renting privately we knew the exact address of the home, no management offices to find to collect keys and sign booking forms first. The porch light was on and when we stepped inside – it was such a welcoming sight. All the lamps were on and the table was set for dinner - by 6pm we were in the pool.
For some reason I seem to have neglected to take any pictures of the villa so I’ll ‘borrow’ a few from the website for those too lazy to follow the links lol !!

It’s all been freshly decorated so is a variety of warm shades as opposed to the blank whiteness of last year’s vacation home. The girls loved the large pool and hot tub, Four bedrooms, three bathrooms ( 2 ensuite), the house was really well equipped and cosy and in an excellent location just behind Splendid China. It only took a few minutes to drive to eh nearest supermarket & restaurants and only a few miles along the 192 to Publix and hundreds of other shops & restaurants. Definite thumbs up and repeat booking from us.

Verdict from DH – 10/10 say no more!

Our On-Site night At Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
It’s becoming a tradition now for us to work our way through as many Disney Hotels as possible so I had booked this as a surprise Christmas pressie for my mam & dad and managed to keep it as such until two days before. I’d got a good AP rate and booked 2 standard view rooms for the night we were doing MVMCP. We’d arrived at check in around noon as the girls had an appointment with Alice at 1:30pm but our rooms weren’t ready because I’d requested connecting rooms. Wow – what an impressive lobby – again no pics!! We left the overnight bags with Bell Services, Steve and dad by the pool ( ;)) and by the time we got back from the Grand Floridian our rooms were ready. Rooms 3136 & 3138 overlooking the Villas, connecting and one with bunk beds – exactly as I’d requested :D

Where does WL rate in amongst the others we’ve stayed at? Definitely one we’d like to spend a bit more time at – but not a whole holiday. The rooms were nice and having a balcony is a big plus. Doesn’t quite have the location or luxury of the Poly (but then we were spoilt with concierge). The Roaring Forks food ‘court’ is very small but the pool is lovely and having the boat transportation is a nice option.

Verdict – one night was definitely not enough and at £70 per night - a very affordable deluxe resort.

We have booked to stay in this villa for August 2005 and 2006, we were lucky enough to visit the villa last year as the owners were over there the same time as us. We spent a lovely few hours with them - the kids had a blast in the pool (that slide was a big hit with them) They are really nice people and the villa was lovely.
