Just got back from a Magical trip to the World. Our Cast consists of Myself, the planner and Disney Commando, DH, doesnt care what we do, my Mother, who has come on a few trips with us now and always loves what I have planned, Cameron 7 and Colton 4. This was their 7th & 6th trips respectively so they have a good grasp of the place. I wont go into dining reviews here as I posted them on the Restaurant Board. I also went into more detail about the resorts on the Resort Board.
Sunday...
The day had finally come! When we woke the kids up at about 5:00am, Cam told me It cant be the day to go, but it was. Yay!
We took the local Logan Express shuttle bus to the airport. It was a quick ride with no traffic and we arrived at Logan around 6:30. We were flying Song airline for the second time and once again check in was a breeze. We used the self serve check in kiosks and had our name called within minutes to drop off our luggage. We grabbed a quick breakfast before getting in the security line, which was very long. Luckily the line moved quickly, and we were at the gate waiting by 7:40. This is when my stomach started with the flip flops because I hate flying, but I got through it. Before long we were boarding and taking off at about 8:45, just a couple minutes behind schedule. I have to say, having the TV at every seat is the best thing for someone who is afraid to fly. I flipped on some Disney tunes, and then we were all playing the trivia game. Even DSs, who were sitting with DM across the aisle from DH &I, were having fun with it. Before long we were touching down in Orlando. What a great feeling that is!
We went to baggage claim to get our luggage and couldnt find our limo driver. We started getting nervous, since we had never used Florida Tours before and didnt know what to expect. Within 5-10 minutes we found him he had been in the mens room. We were relieved, the luggage came quickly, and we exited the airport to find it was raining quite a bit. Uh-oh, we hoped this wasnt a sign of things to come. It was a bit of a bummer, since we would have liked to get some pictures and video of the limo we were surprising DM with, but at least we were able to snap a few quick ones.
After a smooth ride to All Star Sports, we checked in with no line, but the whole process took quite a while (there was a mix up with the different credit cards and the 2 rooms on 1 reservation.). Our room wasnt ready so we left the luggage and took off for the day. We started with a bus to MGM, then the boat to the Swan. We were going to Beaches & Cream for lunch, but wanted to walk around that area to show it to DM since she had never been around the lake there, only to the Boardwalk.
After a 35 minute wait, we had a great lunch at B&C at about 3:00pm and then we were on our way to another surprise we had in store for DM. We had planned to take a monorail tour, stopping at the lounges at each resort for a drink. What DM didnt know is we had ordered the white chocolate Cinderellas slipper at the GF. We actually got 2 for us to share, and 1 order of dog bones for the kids. We were able to pick those up at 1900 Park Faire at 5:00, and we took it to Mizners Lounge upstairs. We checked before we went in that it was ok, and they were very accommodating. The lounge was fairly empty so they moved tables together for us and everything. After eating those and grabbing a drink there, it was then on to the Outer Rim lounge at the Contemporary and the Tambu Lounge at the Poly. This was a fun way to visit the resorts and it really made us feel like we were back in the World. The rain had stopped for the day at about 5:00, which was nice as it had been off and on, heavy and light all day since we arrived.
We then continued on the monorail to the MK, the get a bus back to ASSP. Our rooms were now ready and our luggage was in them when we arrived. We got the football section, the building to the left. DH took the kids to the pool while DM & I did some unpacking. After some was done we headed down to the pool too. The baseball pool, where the kids had wanted to go, was closed so we went for the main pool. We didnt stay long as we knew we had to get a good nights sleep and get ready for EE in the morning.
This is the best picture I have of the inside of the limo. It was very nice, I wish you could see more. I highly recommend Florida Tours.
