PREFACE - we live in West Palm Beach which is about 3 hours south of Orlando. We usually visit Disney 2-3 times a year and have season passes. Our passes were going to expire soon and we wanted to celebrate our anniversary. We aren't going to renew for at least a year because we bought a new house recently and alot is going into it. So we wanted to make this trip special. So it was decided the girls, ages 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 would stay home with Nana and Poppy. Originally our trip was 4 days long, first night off site since hubby had to work and would get up kinda late and 2 nights at WL with a great rate. Then we added a day, and decided first 2 nights at ASMu and 2 nights at WL.

Me - age 25 SAHM of 2 girls
Lane - hubby age 28

Day 1 - 1-25-03
Hubby had to work and got off at 4pm. I had dropped the girls off around 3ish at my grandparents and they were happy as clams to be staying there for 5 days. We had only told them we were going to a hotel. Lane got home around 5:30 and off we went. On the way to Orlando, we saw the most beautiful sunset and all of a sudden a huge bright rainbow appeared in the sunset, it was gorgous and we knew it was a sign of a great trip! Got to Orlando around 8:15ish and there was no wait to check into ASMu. We saw we got our request filled for a close building (jazz) and 1st floor and when we got to the room saw our 3rd request was filled for a king size bed. It was heaven!

We drove our car over to the Beach Club to use our Q&C vouchers at Beaches & Cream. There was only a 5 minute wait and we sat at the counter. I had a single burger and Lane had a double. It was the biggest serving I had ever seen, I didn't eat the bun and only 1/3 of the fries since I knew we were doing dessert. I was already full but ordered a double scoop original sundae. Lane had the mud slide. Both were delicious but way way way too big!!! Great meal and was even better to know it was prepaid. Bill came to $45 but the vouchers took care of it.

We rolled out of there and walked over to the Boardwalk. Didn't feel like really doing anything, we saw some people playing those carnival games so decided to play the one that you pound the frog into the lilly pads. Paid $5 for 6 tries and hubby and I each took 3 chances. Lane missed all 3 and somehow I made all 3. Won a nice sized soft squishy light blue and white whale.

After that we took the boat back over to the Beach Club and drove back to ASMu to catch the last segment of Meet the Parents. LoL, aye, we had watched the first two hours of it earlier in the week and wanted to see who the parents picked. We were in bed to sleep by 11pm. I had a really long and uncomfortable night.

Tomorrow : Magic Kingdom early entry

This is a great beginning. Sounds like your trip is off to a magical start already. I look forward to reading about the rest of your time at WDW.

Looking forward to reading your threads. DH and I haven't been off for a few days by ourselves in about 3 years. I'm really aching for a few days at the world in May for our 13th anniversary. Can't wait to see how your trip went.

Thanks for posting!
