Parley....Will That Get Me On The Ship Any Faster part 2

The later time would work out better for us as well if there was a choice.... we have little ones but no bedtimes on vaca:thumbsup2 We are really looking forward to it! Thanks for doing this:)

While we love the Bushwackers on the Magic this recipe looks way easier to make at home! Thanks for taking on this challenge and seeing it through to the end!:worship:

There were actually four of us doing the tasting. Three picked the Paradise Point recipe and one chose the Disney recipe; it was #2 for the rest of us.

It was tough duty but it just had to be done! :rotfl2:

So I am glad Paradise Point is on our list for St. Thomas. Can't wait for a Bushwacker! (I am getting ready to cash in our change jar to fund our drink-of-the-day and smoothies.)

What does everyone else have planned for St. Thomas? We cancelled a full-day snorkeling excursion, so I am trying to decide if we should take a taxi for a short stay at one of the beaches or spend time shopping. I really wished we had a longer day at St. Thomas.

I'm so excited to hear others are signed up for Bernards Tours. Hopefully we can all get on a bus together. Our last name is Ousley if there is a way to combine our reservations.

Another question for my fellow Parleyers! I posted this in another older DCL thread and figured I'd post it here, too, to get feedback from y'all. We're very excited for pirate night on the cruise. Everyone in the two groups we're traveling with is bringing along pirate costumes. Me, being completely obsessive, I'm going full-tilt on a Jack Sparrow costume, making my own wig even. Just wanted to know from all you previous cruisers, what is the guest participation level on pirate night? Are most people just casually pirated up (i.e. t-shirts and an eye patch), or do lots of people really get into it with their costumes? Am I going to feel like a complete geek and a total standout if I come to dinner dressed in my full-on Jack Sparrow garb?

Here are some photos of guests on the 2010 Westbound transAtlantic during Pirate Night to give you an idea.

I was just reading this past weekend about Paradise Point as part of my Bushwacker research. Apparently, it's "under new management" and everybody is giving it a very low rating.

WOW! :scared1::eek: This will be my fourth time around and I must say I"ve never seen anyone as dressed up as the folks in those pictures!
...of course with a little one (now ones) we always just stayed for the show and fireworks then headed off to bed. So maybe we missed the crazys...

Quick question for my fellow DISers: is the 8pm time for the stargazing meet on Wednesday night convenient for everyone that wanted to attend? My contact with DCL pointed out that at 8pm, the late dinner seating and the second stage show would still be in progress. If there are people who want to go to the stargazing meet but would otherwise miss it because of dinner or the show, could you let me know? Maybe we could push back the time if it is going to be an issue. I told my DCL contact I would ask if 8pm is going to be a problem. Thanks!

Robb...speaking of heading off to bed... I am in the same boat. My DW will probably be in bed with the kids more like 9:00 or so, depending on the show.
A 9pm time or laster would work best for me. Otherwise I'll probably miss out.

I cannot believe it, we got a UPGRADE.

We are now in room 8548 A one bedroom suite.

DCL emailed my travel agent and told her that they have upgraded us for free.

Could we do it later perhaps? I wouldn't want to miss this event.

We have booked the Skyride (for some reason it is cheaper booked through Disney than if you just turn up there :confused3). I think we will play St Thomas by ear though - we really can't decide what else we'd like to do. None of us are really 'beachy' people so we might just wander around the shops/local area.

I'm so excited to hear others are signed up for Bernards Tours. Hopefully we can all get on a bus together. Our last name is Ousley if there is a way to combine our reservations.

I doubt very much you would want to join up with us - we have three kids in our party, two of whom are boys ;) In fact, I am tempted to skip out on them and join up with you guys instead :rotfl2:

Hope it's not a disappointment - I am really looking forward to it :sad2:

That's great news :thumbsup2 I checked our booking this morning, no upgrade for us. I am quite happy with our sideways stateroom though so I am half hoping we don't get upgraded (unless, by some stroke of luck and pixie dust, we ended up with a balcony) ;)

Safe journey to everyone

Thanks - same to you too, looking forward to meeting you. Am I right in thinking you will be on the Boardwalk on the Friday night? We are meeting some friends (other DISers) down in the BW area on Friday night so am hoping to bump into some of the Parleyers who are planning to be around there.

Was planning on being there regardless - even if I had to bring my dessert plate with me... :rotfl:

:cool1::cool1: Love pixie dust :wizard: stories!! Congrats!!! :cool1:

I am terrible at cut and paste so I can't figure out how to copy the posts I'm replying so this may seem a bit disjointed.

As far as stargazing, I thought second seating for dinner wasn't until 8:15 which would give us 15 minutes at least. No time is going to work for everyone.

Pirate night, wow, some of the costume pictures were amazing. We don't dress up to pirate night because we're two accountants (We're more subdued, kind of like Bob Newhart types, also from Chicago:banana:) You're safe either way.

Glad to hear about upgrades. Pixie dust is always nice.:thumbsup2

Wang, it's a parking lot!popcorn::

Do you get a cup of soup with that hat?:rotfl2:

Or, speaking of Bob Newhart:

When the good times roll this is where I want to be.:cool1:

Don't I know you, yeah, I cleaned out your septic tank last week.:rotfl2:

We are dating ourselves but does anyone know these?

Us neither Heather. But, we did get a free one on the last cruise moving us from an SPH to a regular porthole. Loved it! :lovestruc

Yeah, tell me about it. I'm looking through some past editions of the Personal Navigators for the Magic's Eastern Caribbean itinerary. It doesn't look like I could pick any time that wouldn't cut into something or other. If it isn't cutting into dinner, it's cutting into other entertainment venues. To me, food rocks eternal, and for the money. you can't beat the delicious food on a cruise ship! So, I'd rather accommodate the dining, and people will just have to make arrangements for their after-dinner entertainment.

So, I guess I will put the stargazing meet time up to a popular vote and let the masses decide. However, everyone will need to be sure to chime in today because I need to hurry up and get back to my DCL contact if I am going to change the time. If DCL is going to make special accommodations for our little event, I want to make sure they have the right time.

Here are the choices:

#1). 8:00pm (leave it as it is)
#2). 9:00pm
#3). 9:30pm
#4) 10:00pm

Keep in mind, there are some people with young children for whom a later start time would be better. The kids and significant other may already be tucked in for the night, and that would give them plenty of time to come up on top deck and gaze the night away. CONVERSELY, their are people whose young children and significant others would like to participate in the stargazing meet, and a later time would unfortunately exclude them.

Let the vote begin. We must settle on a time this evening. Thanks for any and all input!
