Hi- I booked a last minute add on for my 22 yr old and his GF to join us, but for the package on Expedia.com, this was the hotel. It states that this hotel is right across the street, less than five minutes away. But now that we've booked and paid, we cant find it on any maps. It says this:
1830 S. west street does anyone know if this place is really less than 5 minute walk away? I did read mixed reviews on the hotel itself. Some said nothing great but they are just sleeping there anyway, some said terrible. oh brother. 22 yr old says he doesnt care how bad it is, he wants to go! :Pinkbounc I am concerned about how far it is though... thanks for any info!

Well, it is technically across the street, but NOT from the entrance to the parks. Look at this map:
www.accommodationsneardisney.com/Default.asp
West Street is around the backside of the park in the upper left corner of the map. You'll see the entrances to the parks where the red square is on the middle right section. This isn't easily walkable, but I suppose it could be done if one really wanted to. However, it isn't that far from the Disney parking structure, so you could walk there and catch the parking shuttle to the entrance.

YIKES! That is pretty far to walk. We will be staying at the DLH. Do you suppose they could walk to our hotel and catch the monorail with us easily? It looks do-able form the map, but Ive never been there. Also, is there a fee to ride the parking shuttle to the main entrance? THANKS

Actually up at the top that is West Place which use to be West St. As you can see right below that is Disneyland Drive, which also use to be West St. If you follow Disneyland Drive down to Katella once you cross Katella it is still called West St. The Pakrside Inn and Suites is Located belwo the Anabella Inn. The Parkside is a fairly old and plain Motel that is inexepensive for a reason. I have not stayed there but have read a few reviews. It is clean but worn and not always in good repair and from all I have gathered from my reading and walking by the place, it is one of the last places I would reccomend to stay at. That being said the walk is not really bad but would take 15 minutes or so to the front gates of the parks.

This link shows and ariel photo of the area. To find the Parkside Inn locate the word CONVENTION on the left side of the photo. The ParkSide Inn is the third building above the T in convention.
