Parks? What Parks? We're Here for the FOOD!**PICS!** COMPLETE!

I just finished eating dinner and you still made me hungry :rotfl: Another great update :thumbsup2

Great review of Flying Fish and a beautiful picture of you and your husband. :goodvibes

Looks great, been considering trying Flying Fish for a while and now I really want to go there. Thanks for the review.

Love the reviews, so I'm subscribing!

My wife and I are both big food lovers, and this is all helpful. I may have to try and change a few of my ADRs. How difficult is it to get into the GF High Tea, anyway? We both love tea and what goes with it (although while cucumber sandwiches are my DW's favorites, I am not as fond of them).

:thumbsup2
I have been dying to try Flying Fish and you just sold me!!

I hope you like it.... We did!!! It's our Disney Favorite now (other than V&A's!).

What a fantastic trip report and gastronomically fullfilling food porn!!! Thank you!!
;)

Thanks for sharing your latest reviews. Glad you enjoyed the Segway tour, we did it a couple of years ago and thought it was a lot of fun (though I was terrified of running someone over!)

Luckily we were back in the World Showcase when it was closed. It's hard to run over people who aren't there! :lmao:
Laur's princess:

I get so excited when I see someone discover the wonders of one of my favorite places in all of WDW!:goodvibes So glad you guys had a great meal, we've been there three times and have had excellent meals every time!:thumbsup2

I never realized how many people LoVE FF. We are converts. I hope we get to try it again soon!:thumbsup2

YEA! We are Flying Fish Freaks! Love love love it! Great review and the pics make wish to head out for a crab cake right now!
MMMMM>.. Crab cake! (Where IS that drool icon???)

It wasn't hard AT ALL to get into the tea. It was SOOO worth it and I (obviously) highly recommend it!
Maybe you can give her your cucumber sandwiches and she'll give you a scone or something?:cool2:

Port Orleans French Quarter Sassagoula Floatworks Food Court

I inadvertently left this little jewel out…

The day before our dinner at V&A’s we took a walk over to the “other side” of our resort – the French Quarter Side – for a little exercise before the gluttony began. Too bad we stopped off at the food court and had this…

These little fat bombs are known as beignets. They are fried pieces of dough covered in powdered sugar. When they cook they puff up and are hollow inside. If you have ever eaten a sopapilla at a mexican food place before, they are similar.

The 6 of them are only ONE snack credit!! What a bargain!

The lady working the beignet area got out some pre-made dough, flattened it by hand and dropped it in the fryer. She retrieved the little beauties and gave them a good dousing with about a pound of powdered sugar. Thomas and I were first exposed to these in New Orleans at Café du Monde, on the French Quarter. If you have been to New Orleans and haven’t had a café au lait and beignets at Café du Monde, then you haven’t REALLY visited New Orleans….

For more info about Café du Monde visit: http://www.cafedumonde.com/beignet.html

Anyway, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to have some of these. They were well worth one snack credit. :)

Unfortunately, we just couldn’t finish them. Too much sweet for us and again, we were trying to save ourselves for what we knew was going to be way TOOOO much FOOD!!:yay:

Have just spent the last few hours reading all of this 'porn' and loved every minute of it, I think I actually lost a stone whilst reading as i forgot to eat lunch! :rotfl2:
Looking forward to reading more and more.

Stupid question here but how do you pronounce Beignet? Want to try some when we are at POR in 26 days time but don't want to look like an idiot saying it wrong.:rotfl:

Thanks for writing all these reports they are great.
In antisipation...........

Great Flying Fish review, we haven't been there in a few years and it's about time we went back.

I'm drooling over the beignets, I have a box of Cafe du Monde beignet mix at home and haven't yet made them.

Can't anyone see my post?:rolleyes1 Any replies on how to pronounce Beignets please?:flower3:

From Wikipedia --

A beignet ([bεɲ.e] pronounced ben–YAY, from the Middle French word for "bump"), in American English, refers to a French doughnut being a pastry made from deep-fried dough and sprinkled with confectioner's sugar.

They were originally acadian (French Canadian) so they are said with a french-ish accent.

I Loved your last smilie in your original post!!

Have a GREAT trip!

So I just sat and read the entire thread in one sitting and I am in serious Disney withdrawal. Your reviews and pics were fantabulous! Thanks so much for sharing the magic!!!

Well WOW is the closest word i can come up with to describe the last 15 pages, we are officially having the best weather day in England this year yet and i have spent the last couple of hours here reading your reviews:lmao: it was worth every minute. I have learnt a lot and where I thought V and As really wasn't for me, or Flying Fish for that matter, They are firmly back on my list. Thankyou so much for taking the time to post all of these, and I will be waiting for more. You even made me lust after Minute Maid drinkswith your photos:lmao: We don't get those here.
Oh for the record I'm another English girl who really doesn't like tea;)

Loving the reviews! Just finished reading them all - loved the epic V&A review (especially the "potty break" - I'd end up doing something like that :rotfl: ). The Gardenview afternoon tea sounds lovely - that swan looked like such a work of art that I'd have trouble eating it...well ok I might try ;)

You're not the only one buddy, sat inside, hubby and 1 kid outside other kid asleep on sofa. Thinking about a scone with some clotted cream on it.

No point in a scone without the cream in my opinion.

Ms Heimlich: Glad you came back to finishing the review, and I found it again. I deleted it from my subscribs cause I thought you weren't coming back. So thanks heaps.

Kirsten
