Parks or relaxation?

What would you do in this situation?

So I was not supposed to go to Disney World this year, only Disneyland. Somehow I convinced my mom to take a short weekend trip with me (2 travel days, 2 full days) to Disney World in May! I have two options:

2-Day Park Hopper, only going to the parks on full days
or
4-Day Park Hopper, going to parks on travel days and full days

I'm not concerned about money so that doesn't factor in here. It's more about if I want to be going constantly or take some rest time on my travel days.

What would you do?

all depends on arrival and departure times honestly. Will you get your $$ worth or not would be my deciding factor. I typically don't go to the parks on departure day but we try to hit a park on arrival day if we get in early enough.

If money is not a factor, I would go for the longer trip so you're not as rushed. We like to spend some time in the parks, then go to one of the resorts to relax midday. Like hopping the monorail to the Poly to have drinks and/or food halfway through a MK day. Or taking a break at the BoardWalk in the middle of an Epcot day.

I have tried to just stay and relax for short stays and it is just...not...possible. I always end up at a park because they just so close.

My fear would be that I would get the 2 day tix and plan to chill and enjoy my resort but once I got there I would want to go to a park. If money is not a factor, just get the 4 day to be safe. If you decide on the fly to cut the time on travel days short at the parks, no big deal.

I like to be in the parks as much as possible so 4 days for me. Last two trips we took the early flight from houston and were in MK by noon and stayed until 10pm close. leaving we spent the morning in magic kingdom, lunch, then headed back to hotel to catch magical express with around 5pm departure flights. we were able to do pretty much everything in MK on our travel days both trips.

I always get tickets for each day I'm there since we take a very early flight into Disney and leave pretty late. With FP+ I find it worth it to add on the two days and you are guaranteed 3 rides.

For a short trip like that I wouldn't plan much down time.

That’s what I tell people. WDW does not mean rest. If you want rest goto a beach and sit there all day. Disney for opening and closing the parks and when we goto D L. I am a fast pass runner. Always on the move. And that’s the way to do Disney!!
Love it. Life is too short to rest at the World.

I'd get the 4 day, especially if money isn't a factor. Even if you just go to the parks for a hour or two, for me at least, it's worth it. We usually arrive between 2 and 3 and always go to the parks on arrival day. We drive down and sometimes we drop into a park on departure day if I need one more ride on ToT or if there is something I didn't buy that I just have to have.

Take advantage of every minute possible!!! My husband has suggested that we just hang out at the resort and chill on arrival day (we arrive early to mid-afternoon). Our response is always that he should feel to do so if that’s what he wants... we’ll see him when we get back from the park!!!

Agreed. No time for chillin. I’m headed to the parks also.
