Parks Closed the Rest of the Year?

I am hoping the parks (Disney World) opens back up by June. But at least one analyst thinks it maybe early 2021. Hopefully he is wrong.

Is it possible? Sure. Do I think it's likely? No. I think MK at least will open up this summer (July- ish). HS and AK likely later this fall, though I could see them staying closed till 2021. It's rumored Epcot will just stay shut for awhile.

Exactly. The most attention grabbing statements get the headlines whether overly optimistic or pessimistic. The latest media sensation has been giving a platform to the “open America” protesters. 100 people gathered in Orlando a few days ago and the media proceeds to ask local leaders about the “growing pressure” to reopen. Apparently .0004% of the metro can band together to exert pressure on politicians now. I can easily find just as many people who believe Elvis is alive and cook up a conspiracy that the government is keeping the truth from us and I promise you no one will ask about the “mounting pressure to tell the truth about Elvis”.
Here’s what we all need to accept: no one knows when the parks, resorts, and cruise line will open back up, or how it may or may not be phased - at least not at this stage. Wall Street is all over the board with guess from June 1st to January 1st - and these people get paid to be right. The circle of people who actually know what Disney is planning is so small you’re not going to hear about any leaks until plans start to be put into motion. The problem becomes in the absence of information is this void that we think needs to be filled with speculation.

He could be correct, but given the current climate to get businesses open again, I bet he is wrong. Anything is possible. We just don't know.

Yea - certainly true for all and every news opportunity - not just this. You have someone like this with no real knowledge make a claim like this, and then other people site it as a 'source' for their information, and spread it as news.

This person has no more expertise or insight into when Disney does than those of us posting on a regular basis here. It's just another guess. If you were to look at the range of guesses/predictions for Disney opening - we probably go from people insisting they're going to be there for their May 1st reservation next month, to those saying it'll be the end of 2021 before we enjoy Disney again. My prediction? It's somewhere in between!

It’s a stock opinion piece, the author probably owns shares and is trying to short them. A lot of people tried this when it went sub $90/share for a day then got burned. Anyone with common sense will tell you that’s an extreme opinion.

This whole thing has been “panic porn” since day one, but the longer it goes on slowly but surely the more people realize it.
