Hi, just booked our flights for March Break 2012 and I'm looking for any suggestions for a park'n'fly hotel in Pittsburgh? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,
HTM

We flew out of Pittsburgh twice this year, both times booked Pittsburgh Airport Marriott by bidding on Priceline. I got it for $46 in April and $47 in August. It's a nice hotel in a nice area close to shopping and restaurants. The hotel allows you to leave your car there during your trip and will also shuttle you to and from the airport at no extra cost, shuttles start running at 4 a.m. If you are not familiar with Priceline bidding, check out betterbidding.com for tips and advice. When bidding, you will need to bid minimum 3.5 stars in the Pittsburgh Airport area. Of course, there is no guarantee you will get the Marriott, I happened to get them both times and was very pleased.

+1 We have also flown out of Pittsburgh airport twice since we live in Oakville as well and got the 3* Marriott Courtyard for like $40 on priceline and left vehicle for free and took shuttle to airport.

We usually fly out of Buffalo, although this year we booked two last minute trips and couldn't get flights for my family of 5 under $2,500 from Buffalo but was able to find flights for $900 from Pittsburgh. It's not ideal as it is a five hour drive, but the savings were too great. I've planned my trips early for next year and already booked my flights out of Buffalo.

Sorry but I am curious, why are you flying out of Pittsburgh if you live in Oakville? Buffalo is a lot closer.

Buffalo no longer has the deals like they used to have in years gone by. The secret is out I think and many more Canadians are now flying out of Buffalo than say 5 years ago. I don't limit myself to Buffalo with a family of 5. I have flown out of Detroit, Rochester, Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Youngstown, OH. Last year I got 4 tickets out of Youngstown with Allegiant to St.Pete's Clearwater airport for $496 inc taxes. My oldest son did not come this past March. Allegiant now flies out of Niagara Falls as well.

Thanks minniemomof3. I've never used Priceline, but I will look into it, or even call the hotel direct---I think around $100 is reasonable for a nights stay, shuttle to airport and week of parking. Main thing is the hotel is nice and in a safe location.

Like several of you have written, the cat's out of the bag on Buffalo for cheap flights, especially March Break. 5 hours to Pittsburgh beats 23 to Tampa any day. Hopefully the PIT airport is as easy as BUF.
