Hello,

We will be headed to MHP 10/20 and then a full park day 10/23. Been to Disneyland several times but have usually stayed close to the parks so parking is somewhat "new" to us.

We plan to get to Disney property ~12-1 (to hopefully avoid LA traffic and hang out at DTD prior to the party) on 10/20 and plan to get to the parks prior to opening on 10/23.

Questions:
1. What is the best/most convenient lot to park in?
2. Is there a way to tell online whether one is already full and/or how full the lots are?
3. Coming mid-day on 10/20 - would Mickey and Friends even be an option (if that is the most convenient)?
4. Is preferred parking worth the extra cost?

We are heading in from Oceanside each day if that matters...

Thanks so much!

I prefer Mickey and Friends because they have a restroom at the parking structure. If you park in the Toy Story lot and need to use the restroom, it will be another 15 minutes or longer before you get to a restroom as you have to take the bus to the park and then walk to the restroom. If the security line is backed up, add more time before getting to the restroom.

I've been turned away from Mickey and Friends several times when arriving middle of the day on the weekend. I don't recall ever having that problem on a weekday.

Preferred parking is not worth the extra cost in my opinion.

If you are hoping to park at Mickey and Friends, take the exit for Harbor/Ball Road instead of Disney way/Katella.

If you're coming from Oceanside what kind of LA traffic are you hoping to miss? You'll never get even close to LA.

1. Depends on your preference. I think Toy Story is much less of a hassle. M&F always just takes forever between the line to pay, having to drive all the way up to whatever floor, usually parking so far away, escalator, line for tram, etc. With TS, I usually get to park super close to the buses and there is always one right there. I've never had to wait for a bus. The only wait is for them to load people.

2. There's a Disney twitter that will update when a parking lot is closed, but it doesn't give status of how full they are. Only once it is already closed. The twitter is @DisneylandToday.

3. You should be good to go to M&F mid-day Friday. It depends on the day if the flyover is still open at that time, but try that. You'll have to go up past Disneyland Drive, get off at the next exit and turn around to hit the left flyover lanes. They say theme park parking only. Even if the regular entrance to M&F is closed, the flyover will be open. If the flyover is closed, the regular entrance will probably be open and you can proceed to that. I hope that makes sense.

4. No.

If you are coming from south of Disneyland it's much easier to park at Toy Story. I don't think the Toy Story lot has preferred parking and at Mickey and Friends they start using the preferred parking for regular guest at a certain point during the day.
