parking question

First post! Hi!! I've been lurking for a week and learning lots.

We're planning our first trip for January. We're planning to follow the recommendations of arriving early and being there for the park's opening. We're staying off-site, so I'm trying to figure out how long it usually takes first thing in the morning to park and actually get the tram to the monorail to the park.

Give yourself at least 20 minutes.

Agree...20 minutes is the bare minimum you should allow yourself to get from the parking gate to the main gate. Most parks you will have to park your car and tack a tram to the guest drop-off area, then still walk a bit to get to the main gate. Plus, you will need to allow time to go through security check if you have bags with you.

We just got back, and we stayed at an off-site condo this time. Generally we left the condo an hour before the scheduled park opening time.

Getting to the MK took at least 30 minutes because after the tram ride from your car you then can either take the monorail or the Ferry over.I took the ferry the other day-SLOW.Maybe the monorail is quicker?
