Hi everyone, 1st time cruisers, lots of great tips so far but have a few questions hopefully some of you can help.

We are comming from the UK and will be travelling around as well as going on the cruise, we have a rental car included in our package.

How much is parking at the port? Is it a day rate or nightly ie for a 4 night cruise would it be 4 or 5 days parking?

Also as an alternative considering staying at the Radisson for the cruise and park package. Is the parking secure as we were considering leaving some luggage in the car?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi hetherp,

The port is a safe and very convenient place to park. We were on the 7 day cruise back in Nov. and paid 70. total. (10.00 U.S. per day). You pull up to the curb and the porters will take your bags, then go into the lot, pay and park.
Upon returning, porters brought our luggage right to our car and we were on the road within 15 minutes from disembarking.

I have heard tales of ant problems if you leave any food or crumbs in your vehicle but we had no problems. I have also heard only good things about parking at the Radisson (free). But why wait for transportation if you don't have to?

Good luck and have a great cruise!

Hi Phil! We have parked at the Port 5 times and have never had any problem. We stay at the Radisson; but drive our car over to the Port. That way we don't have to wait for transportation. We just walk out to the car and go.

Hi Phil,
We to will be doing the exact same thing as you next may.
We have looked into it and have decided due to us having a car we will just park at the port as one it will be easier and two we don't have to worry if there are problems with shuttles etc.
Also even though some of the hotels state that they have free shuttles you do actually pay for them and generally have to book certain times.
I would go with parking at the port and condense your luggage into a smaller bag!!
Anyway Seeing you are going before us I will be interested to see what you do and how it works out.:D
So keep in contact
Have a lovely time.

Wow its great to see that I am not the only one that is going to leave my rental at the port while cruising. I actually got a better rate keeping the car and not returning it before we get on the ship and then having to re-rent we were finished. Even with the 30.00 parking charge for 3 days, it is not worth my time or covenience factor to have to return/re-rent. Plus I will be able to leave some things that we dont want/need on the cruise locked away in the car. I also have talked to some that say the port lot is enclosed and fairly safe. Also patrolled by customs/coast guard agents on a frequent basis.

MARSDM.
YES YOUR NOT ALONE, ANYTHING FOR AN EASY LIFE AND ALSO IT IS CHEAPER TO KEEP THE CAR AND PAY FOR PORT PARKING!!
ANYWAY HAVE A SUPER HOLIDAY AND LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU ON YOUR RETURN.

HAPPY SAILING
