Okay, my MIL had one other question...

If there are only 956 spaces, do they ever fill up. My FIL thinks we need to leave Pop Century at 8 a.m.! That means we'd hit the parking lot about 9 a.m.!

I thought I read somewhere the port doesn't even let you into the lot until 10....someone please help; I'm getting really confused now!

im not positive but if you get there to early there will still be cars from the cruise before you.

Twice in the last month we drove, arrived at 10:30, and practically had the parking lot to ourselves. We were in/near Disney hotels, and left there about 9 or so. A nice, easy drive. Both times, when we returned, looking out over the parking lot there were PLENTY of parking spaces. But arriving at 10:30? You'll get your pick!

Okay! Thanks for the tips! I never even thought about people parking there from the cruise that was unloading! LOL!

We are staying in Pop Century Saturday night, so we should be fine....I think we'll leave around 9-9:30 then! Thanks!

Perhaps MIL and FIL need to be introduced to the boards or to the Passporter for DCL cruises else they will drive you crazy with questions..... The DCL shuttles to the port, themselves don't leave until 11:30 or later. The port will not let you in until mid-morning. In a pinch, if you were to miss out on the very last space, you could probably park at one of the hotel parking lots nearby and pay their cruise line parking rate. There are many more people who take transportation other than cars to get to the port so the number of parking spaces is not really a reliable indication, in relation to the number of cruisers, of the difficulty in how hard it will be to find a space for the car. If you DO leave the POP at 8:30, just take a good book and prepare to while away your time in the car or, perhaps organize a little portside excursion...Maybe a little breakfast at Grills or at a hotel. That way no one will be stressed out before the cruise.

That's the problem; she read in the Passporter there were "only" 956 spaces in the parking lot! :cool1: :cool1:

Yeah, but there are only 875 staterooms on the ship. I think that you can pretty safely assume that you would only have 1 car at most per stateroom. Now, taking into account that you need enough parking spaces for both ships, if everyone parked there, and both cruises were completely sold out, you would use 1750 spaces. However, I would say that the overwhelming majority of people on the cruise do not park at the port. Most either take Disney transportation, a private towncar, park at an offsite hotel (since that can be "free"), or rent a car 1 way and drop it off.
