We will be renting a van for our trip and I plan on bringing our handicapped hang tag for the van. Is there a cost for parking at the hotels (Dolphin) and at the parks when we drive there??

Hi!

If you are staying at the Dolphin (or other on-site resort), you will be able to park for free at all of the parks. Also, you can valet park for no charge if you show the valets your handicap sticker at the Dolphin and any of the other deluxe on-site resorts that have valet parking.

Disney's rule about parking at the parks is it is free if you are staying at a Disney Resort or have an Annual Pass. I do not know if they consider staying at the Swan or Dolphin as a "Disney Resort". However, you do need the hang tag to park in the Handicap Parking areas.

Normally the deluxe hotels charge for valet parking. However, if you have handicap plates or hang tag there is no charge. I think that the Swan and Dolphin follow this policy.

By the way, I know at the Disney deluxe hotels the valets are "tip positions" and the valets do not get any of the daily fee. I make it a point to tip the valets $2.00 both incoming and departing.
If I have the ECV with me and need it disassembled and put in the trunk, or removed and assembled, I will normally give the valet $5.00 instead. If there was no offer of assistance and no help, then not only would there be no tip but would also be a discussion with a supervisor

Cheshire Figment, they do consider the Swan and Dolphin to be the same as staying at a Disney Resort as far as free parking at the theme parks. In fact, the only things that are different for the Swan Dolphin is that you can't charge at the parks or DTD with your room key and you have to show your room key to get free parking since they don't give you a piece of paper to keep on the dash of the car.

But e-nights, magic morning, delivery of packages to the resort, length of stay passes and access to all Disney transportation is exactly the same.

Oh, and I agree with you about tipping valet. We always tip both when we drop off and pick up since the tips went way down once they instituted the charge for valet parking. And we can valet park for free since we have a handicap sticker at any of the deluxe resorts on property, so we end up tipping a fair amount(smile).

I'm just writing to say I have also heard that Swan and Dolphin are treated the same as other WDW resorts for parking.
