We will be travelling to Orlando with family early this Nov. My SIL wants to stay off site. We were thinking of staying at a nearby condo with them for 4 or 5 nights, then extending our stay by going to FW for an additional 3 or 4 nights. Do you know if we can leave our pop-up in the parking lot for a few nights before our stay actually begins? I have seen campers before in the outside lot, but we would need to leave it for 4 or 5 nights.

I know I see people parking their trailers/RV's but I believe they are staying at other resorts on property, not off. You may want to give them a call and just fib a little and say you are staying with a relative off property and they do not have room for it in their driveway, etc. Make sure you get a name when you call and ask. And I would make sure it is not just a regular CM get a supervisor, because you know how things are different between CM's sometimes.

Why would you want to stay off-site? Is she like my SIL (cheep) I mean thrifty?

Just let your SIL stay off site While you stay at FW.

It's a different VACATION when you stay off site verses on site.

Let her meet you at the camp site or the outpost bus stop every morning.

Last January I stayed for 2.5 weeks with a 3 day side trip to tampa in the middle of the trip. I couldn't get a site for the whole three weeks.

I asked to leave my pop-up in the lot to avoid towing it to Tampa and back. I had to get a hang tag to put on the door from the Manager. All RV's parked in the lot had to have them and they were at first reluctant to give me one.

I was told without it I could be towed. When I explained my situation (the gap in my ressies) They checked my return ressie and when they saw it was legit they gave me a hang tag.

I would NOT leave it there without that overnight hang tag but I am law and order every time. I doubt they will let you without a reservation.

Yea, you're taking a chance by trying this, they might let you keep it there, or they might not. There really is no set in stone law, and if you are planning on doing this be sure to talk to a manager first and get a hang tag. Depending on how early you plan on keeping it, and how busy they are, they might let you keep it. If it was for one night, it would be much easier, but if you're talking multiple days you might have a bit more of a problem.

Thanks for the replies. My in-laws will not camp. They are flying down from up North. I suggested we stay separately and meet up in the parks during the day, but we really did want to spend more time with them than that. We'll need to see if we can park at the off-site place instead and then just drive over for our Fort reservation. It would be much easier if we could leave the pop-up there previous to our reservation though.

We went on a DCL Cruise in May and had ressies at FW after the cruise. I called the Outpost and asked if I could park the RV in the big lot while we were on the cruise and then check-in on the Thursday we got back and was told no. They mentioned that we could be towed away.

I was told that if I made a Sat. night ressie I could get the tag on Sunday morning before we left for the cruise we could then leave the RV in the lot without worry about being towed.

There is room in the harbor parking lot for RVs.

Update,

SIL amd her family will be staying on-site at Port Orleans and we will camp!!! I am so excited to be going back to the fort.

So here's another touchy question, can they come back some evening to the campsite for dinner with us and use the pool at the Meadows? Or can we visit with them at POR? I'm not sure we will be doing this because we will be at the parks most days.

Sure. They'll have to park in the lot and you can pick them up, or drive them back over.
