Parking for ADR's at resort -- then on to the park....

Thanks to Sammie, Tigger_Magic, ScubaMouse, and DisneyWisher for your quick responses!

Sammie – Yes, I know the EWP goes past WL, but I’m not sure how late DS (20 months) will last, and I think it’s even later on MVMCP nights when the fireworks are later :confused3 . We’ll be at Poly that first night (and it should feel an hour earlier to us, though travel tired), so I thought we’d try to catch it there, and then if we get to see it another night from WL, so much the better!

Tigger_Magic – Thanks – I agree taking the monorail all the way around and back to Poly the 2nd time sounds like the best plan, if we get there early enough, and hopefully we’ll catch the front car at least once during our trip! We can fill time by riding again after dinner (or else maybe play in the sand or shop?) We can either try the monorail or walking back to TTC after fireworks/EWP.

ScubaMouse – I know! I’ve read lots of trip reports with young kids saying their favorite things were the monorail and swimming at the hotel!

DisneyWisher – Yes, Monday is our arrival day and O’hana dinner! :goodvibes We aren't doing any parks that day. We do plan to take the boat to MK when going to MK from WL, but I’m worried about getting back “home” to WL from the Poly with a toddler after fireworks and EWP when I imagine the boats and monorails to be mobbed, especially our first night when we don't have the hang of everything yet.

Sorry for kind of “hijacking” this thread!

I am sure someone will correct me if this is wrong, but in my experiences staying at the resorts that have access to the Water Pageant it is pretty consistent in what time it shows and does not vary.

::yes:: It's very consistent. We just returned from a week at CR and you could almost set your watch by EWP.

At different times of the year we have been turned away from the Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Contemporary unless staying there.

Thx for the info! I wouldnt be offended if I was turned away from the Poly or GF (even with an ADR in the resort) I could just eat someplace else. My concern, actually, was that someone who was staying at the hotel wouldnt get their car valeted, because of the area where they keep our cars getting full, while I valeted my car, enjoyed breakfast with my fam, then moved on to the MK :guilty: Thats something I wouldnt want happening. Not that I travel on holidays, when the parks & resorts may be at their most hectic

As long as the valet takes my car, I just assume that theres plenty of room for all of the guests with booked room ressies :bitelip:

Is this the only resort that anyone knows for sure has turned guests (day or otherwise) from valet ? I hope so, as I dont think Id want to valet there anyway:)

I've seen the GF, Polynesian, CR, BW and BC all turn away guests for valet parking who were not staying at the resort. In particular I've seen the PR not allow any parking by anyone for any reason, including ADR's, if they weren't staying there. My guess is that an exception would be made for people with handicapped placards or tags.

Actually during the busiest holiday times, this isn't going to work, unless you want to stand in line for counter service someplace. Most full service places have no ADR's available for walk-ups on holidays, this includes resorts and parks alike.
