Can we park at a hotel we have an ADR at and then leave the car there to go to the Park. For example We have an ADR at Cape May after eating can we go to Epcot and then at the end of the night get our car and avoid the hassles of leaving Epcots parking lot? This is our first time renting a car and plan to utilize it for ADRs out side of the parks
TIA

Only if you pay to valet. Parking at the resorts is not meant for theme park access.

Resort parking is not meant to be used for accessing the theme parks. I believe the signs at the entrance specifically say that.

Resort parking lots are for registered guests of that resort and guests with an ADR or shopping, for up to 3 hours.
They are not designed and are not large enough to accommodate theme park parking.
There is nothing worse than to be paying the high cost of a BC room to return to my hotel to find no place to park my car because lots of folks have parked there and gone to Epcot. This is totally unfair to these guests.
Valet parking is the only option. It is currently $25 plus tip.

Thanks for the quick response.... I wasn't trying to be sneaky I did do a search and no results were found and we have never driven while at WDW so I have not read the parking signs.

During very busy times of the year some resorts have been known to tow. This doesn't happen all the time, but keep that in mind. Is your CMC ADR PPO? If it is not, why not just park at Epcot and walk through the park to the International Gateway? CMC is not a convenient restaurant for PPO breakfast, if you aren't staying within walking distance, even though it seems like it should be, given its proximity to Epcot.

We will be there the end of January. my thoughts were Go to our 5:20 ADR at Cape May then walk over to Epcot and just walk around until 8;30/9:00. Same w/ our 1900s ADR 5:15 then go to MK for the evening. Sorry I'm not sure what PPO is

PPO means "pre-park opening". As others have said, the resort parking lots are for guests while they are enjoying the amenities of that resort. So, in most cases, you're welcome to park at the resort while you are dining there, but once you've finished your meal, you're expected to take your car with you when you leave so that you free up the parking space for guests staying at that resort or who have dining reservations after you. The other option is to valet park the car, in which case you can leave it there while you go to the parks.

For 1900PF, you can park at the TTC (MK's parking lot) and then take the monorail to the GF, so you don't have to worry about moving the car after dinner. For Cape May, I would valet park at the Beach Club.

My question for Cape May would be to ask where you are coming from before the dinner reservation and where you are going after your time at Epcot. I ask because you mentioned "the hassles" of leaving the Epcot parking lot but you are only going to be staying until 8:30 or 9 so Illuminations will be going on and not a lot of people leave at that time. So, it might be in your best interest to park in the Epcot parking lot, go through Epcot and then exit for your reservation and come back with no problems at all. But, I don't know where you will be earlier and how you will get there. And I don't know where you are going after your Epcot stay.

We have parked in the Epcot lot many times, stayed to watch Illuminations (this last time was the Friday after Thanksgiving so we weren't out of the park until 10), and were back to our offsite hotel before 10:30. That's not a hassle to me.

I was planning on taking an uber to the hotel for whatever meal we have scheduled then the monorail or bus to whatever park we're going to that day. :)

This is a common question on the transportation forum, where it gets an even more fervent response. I made the mistake of asking the question when I was new here.

Here's a breakdown:
1. parking at a resort is for people staying or otherwise actively participating in an activity at the facility
2. Resorts enforce this policy with a 3 hour parking restriction
3. Yes, people have been towed
4. This policy is most often enforced at near-park resorts
5. sometimes, you'll get "permission" to park for longer from security at the parking entrance, but this is never a sure thing
6. Paying for valet allows you to park for however long you want and go wherever.

MOST likely when you park you will be given a 3-hour pass---

1) And, at some "monorail resorts", only two hours.
2) Your idea to park an not pay takes up parking spaces for those people paying to stay at the resort.
3) If this were allowed, the resort parking lots would be full with those trying to cheat the system by not paying the $20 parking fee.
