Good morning. Haven’t had a car on property in a while. Can we park at theme parks for free if staying in a DVC resort on points as DVC members? Also, if we want to drive over to BWV (staying at SS in March) for dinner one night, can we park for free? How much is valet if we choose to go that way?

Thanks! Dee

Theme park parking is free for anyone staying onsite. If you have a dining reservation then you shouldn't have any problem parking at a resort and there is no fee for that. I'm not sure on valet as we don't use it.

Valet is/was $35 could be more now since Disney is in 'bleed all you can from the customer' mode.

I will also note that of all the resorts, BWV and BLT are the ones most likely to turn away guests with dining bookings. They have limited parking and it gets abused badly.

Oh no! What do you do in that situation if you have an actual dining reservation? Drive back to the on-site Disney hotel you're staying at and take a bus? Drive to Magic Kingdom, park, trek to the TTC and then monorail?

In order to park at BWV if not staying there, you must have a dinner reservation at one of their restaurants that are open. I’m not sure if Flying Fish has reopened yet, but Big River and Trattoria al Forna are both open. If it’s busy, they will no longer accept “I’m going shopping” . I’m not sure what they are doing about Jelly Rolls. There had to be that overflow lot/cast member parking across the street from where BWV loading dock is, but not what the status of that is. You could always ask someone at your resort to call ahead and ask about that.
The only time I can recall that people who had dining reservations at BWV and BLT were turned away was during the 50th chaos October 1st. We self park at BLT and BWV numerous times a year while staying at those resorts and there are always plenty of spots....was not the case a few years ago when people would claim they were going shopping or checking out the resort when in fact they just wanted to park there and walk to Epcot.

Thank you. It’s just a thought. We’ll have so many options staying at Saratoga that I doubt we’ll go over to BWV, but it is one of our home resorts so I may miss it and want to get over there.

I know what you mean. I always miss it when I’m not staying there.

When we’re not staying at BWV, we often park at DHS and ride the Skyliner there. Two fun activities!

For BLT/Contemporary, that is what I would do, loop around, park in the MK lot, and monorail over to the resort, if the resort lot is full. Or, rather than drive over, go ahead and hop on a MK resort bus from your resort in the first place.

We stayed in a Treehouse Oct11-18.Drove over to BWV on 10/16 told the guard we were meeting some friends for a drink and to walk around. The guard let us in but not without telling us to make reservations next time. It was late morning .

I have a 6pm reservation at Steakhouse 71 before we have tickets to the Very Merriest After Hours. Was hoping to walk to MK after dinner and then walking back to the Contemporary after to drive home would get us back quicker than Disney transportation that late.

They won't let you park there while going to a theme park unless you valet.

Please do not park at the Contemporary/BLT for theme park access. Parking is limited. If you want to go to the MK, I'd park in the MK lot and monorail over to Steakhouse 71. Or as another poster suggested, pay for the valet.

Thanks for the heads up, we'll be sure to valet!
