Parking car at Grand Floridian to go to MK

That way, everyone gets their way. WDW gets their$ 2 tips for valets, and you, the one who may have scrimped and saved for who knows how long to finance this family vaca., can all be happy. It may cost more now to valet and tip then to use the MK parking lot, but its worth it to me if I spend $20 per day on valet and tips (even more if nec). For some reason I hate the MK lot. Epcot too. Maybe its the tremendous size. Ill gladly pay for valet instead. As long as I didnt *take someones spot* the resort guests should be having to much fun on vaca themselves to give a crap about my little Toyota in the valet lot. :umbrella:

Thanks for the support. Unless I'm missing something, about the only time I can see it being a problem is during peak season. In theory, the valet lot could get full and/or the line for valet service could get long. The valets would love their additional tips and the resort the valet fees with the high volumn but the resort guests who are ALSO valet users may have longer lines. For my off season travel, I see no harm in the car sitting there 5 hours past a 3 hour limit. (Not that I've seen 3hr limits for valet service; when I tell the guard I'm using valet, he doesn't write out a 3hr pass but directs me to the valet service instead. ) Seems to fall within the "live by the rule, everything's cool as long as nobody gets hurt" type guidelines to me.

DW and I stayed off property the first week of October. One day we wanted to check out the monorail resorts. We parked at CR and the guard gave us a pass. I didn't look at the pass. We took our time visiting the resorts and stopped to have a nice lunch. We must've been away for about 4 hours.

When we returned to the car, I happened to look at the pass and saw the 3 hr limit. I figured I would just pay the fee and didn't mind. We did have a good time. But the guard just opened the gate and waved at us as we drove out.

It is my understanding that as long as you use the valet services, you can keep your car at the resort all day. Upon retrieving your car, you will get a tag that allows you to use any other of the valet services offered at other resorts. If you don't use the valet, you can only keep your car there for the allotted time on the parking slip.
