Parking at WL and AKL

we are driving from the northeast to wdw for 2 weeks and staying at the WL and AKL i have a question about parking. is it safe? do the CMs do rounds to check on the cars? and would it be better to valet the car? any body ever had problems?
we just go a new toy (H2) and are so looking forward to driving to wdw in it.but want to make sure parking is safe as we have never had a car there.

We always drive and leave our cars in the parking lots. Have never had a problem and have stayed at both WL and AKL. Even if you Valet they park it in the same area, just a gate across one set of parking spots to keep you from driving your own car in there. Have seen security in the parking lots but not sure how often they actually check.

We always drive and have NEVER had one problem at any of the resorts.

I have been staying on property for over 20 years and never had a problem. While I do feel the parking lots are safe you just never know what will happen...I have heard of cars being broken into while parked on property from the DIS.


You will love both WL and AKL have a great trip.

Congrats on the H2! We bought one in May and love it! While we have never driven it to WDW, I would have no problem parking in the resort parking lots. At the Poly it is the same parking lot for valet and self parking. The only difference is little signs saying valet. We have taken the H2 to Atlantic City and Washington DC, which you think we would have problems, and have been fine. WDW should be quite safe. Do you have a long drive? I can imagine the gas $$$ you will be putting out! LOL! Have agreat trip!
