When we cruise parking at the port is the only option. We won't park any where else. But boy the prices have really risen!! How do you save money while parking at the port? Tips, tricks, advice?

Ok, I will check these out if we cruise in the next year or so. If the deal is still around then. Rather stay at Disney the night before so I really don't know. But crap, parking is such a rip off now.

How much is parking now? We are on the 4 day Dream leaving in 10 days. We have a week long rental car (free - on points), so was probably just going to park it at the port. I could turn it back in and pick up another one, but pointswise it isn't really a savings to do two one-ways instead of a week long reservation returning to the airport. I would rather pay some $ and park at the port than deal with shuttles and the extra time involved.

Is there some reason you won't park anywhere else? We have had great expriences with Park 'N Cruise and it's only 8.99 per day if you book in advance.

If you stay at one of 14 hotels near the port the night before, you can get a 40% discount coupon to park at the port parking. To get the hotel list you go to the Port Canaveral website an click on parking. The list is there. For a 7 night cruise the cost goes from $120 to $72. Good deal. Parking for a 7 night cruise, standard vehicle is $120.

Has anyone stayed at one of these hotels? We usually stay at Country Inn & Suites, but of course, they are not on the list.

We were originally booked at the Raddison at the Port, with a Stay and Park package. We ended up booking Quality Inn Titusville which was a nice hotel, that included breakfast and parking coupon and would highly recommend it. Instead of heading to the port first thing we did go to KSC to see the Atlantis Exhibit and took the bus tour. We left KSC about 12 and were at the port parked by 12:30. It appeared they had just reached opened boarding and was lovely. I may never get to the port early again.

We stay at the Fairfield Inn in Titusville and it's very nice with a breakfast. Close to a Walmart and Target for last minute items.

Every single hotel in the area has some kind of cruise parking deal. Some of them must be booked directly with the hotel (instead of using the brand's web site), but they all have something. The ones that have a big parking lot typically offer parking for up to a week with a one-night stay, and a shuttle to the cruise terminal. The ones that don't have enough parking space to do that usually offer the coupon for the parking structure at the port.

The free parking with the shuttle is almost always the cheapest option, since you can often get it for no more than you'd pay for an overnight stay, or only a few dollars more. The downside is that they usually have one shuttle that goes back and forth and if you miss the first one you have to wait for the next one. When there's traffic at the port, that can be a fairly long time (like 30 minutes if everything goes poorly). But even if you end up taking a cab back to the hotel, it's still a great deal and almost always the lowest price if you're going to be staying overnight anyway.

The parking coupon is convenient, because you get to park right there at the ship, but in our experience the hotels that give out the coupon are not the closest Canaveral/Cocoa Beach hotels. Of course, the fact that they're further away isn't such a big deal, because you're going to be driving yourself, and you get to leave directly from the terminal when you disembark.

There's also a parking facility fairly near the port that offers parking at about $9/day - http://www.parkcruise.com/. We haven't used it, but it gets perfectly fine reviews.

We will be staying at this hotel as well for the first time in February..About how long was the drive from the hotel to port? And do they give you a voucher for parking upon check in? And what do they ask for as "proof" of cruise?

Supposedly, if your vehicle has been modified for wheelchair access parking is free at the port. It was free two years ago for us as I simply pointed out to the attendant at the exit that our van had been modified. Last year when we cruised, everything was automated and there was not attendant to point this out to.

For Port Canaveral staying at a hotel offering the 40% off coupon is the only way to save money and park at the port. You can find the list here: http://www.parkingstay.com/2014/01/port-canaveral-discounted-parking.html

We stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Titusville Kennedy Space Center.

The cost of the hotel room will exceed the 40% parking discount!! Why bother? Port parking is $120 a week, $140 if you want preferred parking. So at a 40% savings, you would pay $72 for the week of parking. A hotel room will cost close to $100 if not more. So where is the savings?

Driving from MCO to the port will only take 46 minutes with average traffic.

I think that you assume everyone's flying in. We drive from Ohio, we have to park our car & we arrive the night before. I think most people that park are drivers & if you're flying why would you pay to park a rental car for a week? I know some people get great deals on rentals & just pay to park, but otherwise I don't get the statement about the time it takes to drive from the airport is 46 mins.

I'm not saying to book a hotel room just to save 40% on parking. I'm recommending that if you're going to book a hotel anyway why not book one that'll save you 40% on parking? I booked the Fairfield Inn on points so it cost us nothing AND saved us 40% on parking.

They do not ask for anything on proof of the cruise. I can't remember is they give at check in or check out. I think I get it at check in. Drive if I remember correct is 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic but we tend to stop at Target on way

I live in Orlando so I guess I was talking to people that just drive their personal cars to the port. I used MCO as a point of reference for the 46 minute drive.
I guess if you were driving down from another state you could just drive to the port and get a hotel in Port Canaveral area for the discount to park.

We often stay in Port Canaveral the night before our cruise. I like to park at the port. In the future I would stay at one of the hotels that are offering 40% discount. Just makes sense. We have stayed at a few them already on the list before they included the discount and would stay at them again.
