Is regular parking free at the Dolphin for guests staying at the hotel ? I read that valetparking costs 10 dollars a day, if I park my car valet and then don´t use it for 5 days will I have to pay 50 dollars anyway when I finally pick it up ?
When I arrive to the hotel is it clearly marked where to park (we will arrive rather late after a 12 hourflight so I am a bit afraid I´ll mess things up if I´m not totally prepared.

Self parking is free. The parking areas are marked but it not a glaring sign. The parking situation was the only minor inconvenience at the Swan/Dolphin because it seems like you walk forever to get to your room. Even if you don't stay at the hotel I believe you can park there for free, say if you wanted to go to the Boardwalk. They have large convention areas and many people going in and out I really don't know how they would police non guest parkers.....

Annika--If you are not going to be using your car for 5 days after your arrival, would you be better off using a Car Service from the airport. We stayed at the Dolphin, and didn't need a car at all. The car service included a free grocery store stop, too. I think they start at around $80 roundtrip for 4 people. We used Tiffany Towncar, and it was $95 (including online coupon) for 5 people with LOTS of luggage and a double stroller. You can book them online. It's great because they meet you at the baggage claim at the airport and help you with all your luggage. That was a big help with two kids. You can read more about the different car services on the Transporation Board. We used Tiffany because they seemed to have the best reputation for the price. If you need a car for later in your trip, you can rent one at the Swan/Dolphin.

Thank you Sherri for being helpful.
Actually that was the original plan cause I don´t feel like driving on the night of arrival but after checking out car rentalrates for weeks not beliving the differences I finally gave in a now rent the car on arrival ( we pay less than 600 dollars for three weeks and if I would have rented it after 5 days it costed 1100 dollars for 5 days less) unbelievable I know but it is because of the change of season. So that´s why it will be standing on the parkinglot at the Dolphin just waiting for us to go...

still hoping for that someone will now about the cost for valetparking, pls look at the beginning of the thread.

The cost for valet parking at the Swan and Dolphin is $10.00 per day regardless if you use your car each day or not. So 5 days sitting in the valet parking lot does indeed cost $50.00.

was the only bad part of our stay at the Dolphin. As an earlier poster said, it is not marked very well and is a good distance from the main lobby entrance. We only used our car once over the week so it was really no big deal. And sure not worth spending $10 a day to have it sit!
