Where can I park at the terminal in Port Canaveral? Is there more than one option for parking and what are the costs and what is the distance from the terminal?

We're using cruiseparkingofportcanaveral.com. It's 6.99 a day -- $29.64 with taxes for our 4 day cruise. They seem to have excellent reviews.

There is parking at Terminal 8 which is DCL's private use terminal. The fee is $15 per day.

There are a number of off-site parking locations that will save you as much as 50% or more when compared to parking at the terminal.

Park 'N Cruise is one of the closest off-site lots at about 3.5 miles.

And that "per day" fee means any portion of a day. So, for a 3 night cruise you pay for 4 days; a 4 night cruise = 5 days.

There are also hotels that offer parking with or without an overnight stay (if that is needed in your situation). Be sure to check out the security of their lots--fenced? lighted? as well as their shuttle situations.

Park and Cruise is great--book on line in advance to assure a spot and save $1 over the "just show up" price. They also offer a senior discount as well as some on line specials from time to time.

This is the info from the Disney Cruise Line page:

Parking
The parking facility is staffed from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for Guests parking their vehicles prior to embarking the ship. The parking lot and garage are paved, gated and under 24-hour surveillance.

Parking fees are charged when Guests depart the parking facility instead of upon entry. Parking attendants will provide a hang tag to the Guests upon entry of the parking facility. At the end of the cruise, Guests will present the hang tag to the parking attendant and pay the parking fees at that time.

Guests are charged for every day their vehicle is in the lot/garage, which includes the day of arrival and the day of departure from the cruise.

Parking costs are based on cruise itinerary. See below:

$60.00 per parking space for the 3-night cruise
$75.00 per parking space for the 4-night cruise
$90.00 per parking space for the 5-night cruise
$105.00 per parking space for the 6-night cruise
$120.00 per parking space for the 7-night cruise
If the Guest's vehicle takes up more than one parking space (i.e. RV, trailer), the guest is charged $15.00 per additional parking space per day.

Preferred parking is also available for $25.00 per day. The preferred parking area is located inside the secured area, next to the vehicle dropoff area.

Guests enter via the car gate, drop off their luggage and then make a left turn in to the preferred parking area. There are total of 113 spaces, including 6 accessible spaces. Parking in the preferred area is on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the size of the lot, there is no over-sized vehicle parking available in the preferred parking area.

The Port Canaveral Port Authority operates the parking facility. Cash, Visa and MasterCard are the only acceptable forms of payment. Personal checks are not accepted.

There are cheaper options, but we have parked in the terminal deck for both of our cruises. There is some value to knowing that your vehicle is right there waiting for you across the walkway bridge between the terminal and the deck...as opposed to needing to take a shuttle, taxi or other transportation to wherever you leave your car outside the terminal area.

Even so, we were very tempted to use one of the hotel parking options (just $30 for the week long cruise...vs $120 in the deck) recently. We just didn't want to commit to driving all the way from NC to Canaveral to spend that night before, as it would likely have been 3:00 a.m. getting there (based on when we left our house).

And that "per day" fee means any portion of a day. So, for a 3 night cruise you pay for 4 days; a 4 night cruise = 5 days.

This is why we are using the website that I mentioned above -- they only charge for 4 days with a four day cruise. But, I don't know if they do the same with a 3 day cruise.

Just got back from the Dream 5 day double dip Christmas Cruise. We parked at the Radisson at Port Canaveral. Parking is $6.95 per day and they transport your family and luggage to the cruise ship and back to your car.

They have a huge lot, but it is not fences or lighted. There has been at least one report of vandalism in the lot. For the same price, you can get fenced and secured lots.

Does anyone other than the parking structure at the Port Canaveral terminal offer covered parking??? Covered parking will always be the deal-breaker for us. TIA! :thumbsup2
