Parking at resorts for guests- Need information on this!

We are heading down in 2 weeks using DME and all Disney transportation. We are having family members join us for one day to go to the parks and have dinner. Can they park at our hotel (Bay Lake Towers)? Do I get a parking pass when I check into the resort or do they say they are day visitors? I am an AP and DVC member. I am unsure about visitor parking at resorts and any info is appreciated!!

I requested a parking pass for a friend that came to visit us for about 6 hours (at the resort, we didn't go to the parks, we actually monorailed it over to Poly) and it was pretty easy. Just went to the lobby and got one.
