Renting a house near parks and will be driving to parks everyday. We have little ones that might need to go back for naps. Are you allowed to leave parking lot and return later without paying for another day of parking? How much does it cost to park? We have always stayed on property so this is new to us.

Straight from Disney Parking
Guests pay one fee for a parking pass good all day at all 4 theme parks—Magic Kingdom park, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park.
Standard parking: car or motorcycle – $25 per day

See the link for more details and options. Have fun!

FYI, an AP includes theme park parking if that becomes an option by the time you visit. One AP per car is all you’d need.

Just be sure to keep the receipt from the first parking booth. Show that when you return to the first park or hop to another.

We are heading to MK next month. I like to do is preferred parking since I have a young toddler and it's hot in August in Florida. Do I pay for the parking at the toll plaza and I just follow the red/orange line that next to the blue line on the pavement correct? I got confuse because I was following the path on Google Earth and saw a sign for Diamond Parking and no signs for prefer parking.

After I park I take the transportation and I hop on the Monorail system or the ferry boat correct?

The last time I was at Disney World was back in 1988, 1984 and late 1970's. I still have Disney Dollars.

The CM in the toll booth will instruct you where to go for preferred parking. Once you are through the security checkpoint, you can take a ferry, the monorail, or even a bus (not always available).
