If you drive to different resorts for meals, do you give your PS number to the guard, or will your resort parking tag be enough to get in?

Oh yeah, we will be going to the conteporary, yatch club, the poly, and Boardwalk.

thanks in advance

Usually your name is on the list, you show photo id, you get a 3 hour parking pass and you are good to go. It never hurts to have your ps number available, just in case.

when I have given the guard the PS number - I generally get around 4 hours instead of the 3 hours.

When we were there in Sept. we went to CR just told the person at the gate we had PS at CG they said sure just park over there. We had our name card with the resort that we were staying at on the dash. Didn't have to give any PS number or anything.

Also, when we went to the POLY for dinner the same thing.

The only times a guard checked to see if we had PS was at the Contemporary early in the morning and at the Poly on Christmas day. Otherwise they don't seem to check. It probably depends on how busy they expect the resort to be on any given day.

What if you don't have a PS but just want to take your chances as a walk-in to one of the resort restaurants? Will we have trouble parking?

We never make PS's because we never know where/when we will be anywhere or what we will feel like eating, so we just take our chances and usually never have a problem (it's just two of us, hubby and me). We've done this for table service in the parks, DTD and on the Boardwalk, but never at a resort.

I've been reading so much about the resort restaurants, that we want to try a few of them. Can we just drive in, say we are going to the restaurant, and park?

Yes, you can just go and you shouldnt have a problem. I did this on my last trip and had no problem. My friend and I drove into AKL at about 10:15am, told the guard we were going to eat and had no problem. We had no PS.

Another time, I was in the lounge at the Poly around 5:00pm and my friend was coming to meet me there. He just told the guard he was meeting someone in the lounge and had no problem getting in.

One year on a whim we decided to go to GF to see if we could get into the breakfast. At the gate we told the cm that, and he said go on through - no questions asked.

Just got back, and there was no problems trying to find/ access parking at other resorts for meals or just to look around. only once at the poly, the guard told us that we could take the monorail from TTC to the poly if we just wanted to look around, but he let us in anyway.

I have a twist to the OPs question. We have a PS, at the GF, for dinner, but the DDs are staying at the Neverland Club. We would like to park at the Poly. We we be able to park, since the kids are going to be there, and then ride the monarail over to GF? We were thinking right at, or a little more than 3 hours. How strict are they with the passes?

Each resort we went to gave us a three hour parking permit for our window. If you have DD at neverland club, it should be enough to get a permit. The guards were all nice, but get there a little early as the poly lot is always pretty full.

When we ate at Jiko, we showed the guard our Poly parking pass, and told him we were there for dinner. No problem, he just waved us through.

What happens if your three hours expires? Has anyone been towed? We were thinking of valet parking at the Y/B Club and eating at Cape May and then going into Epcot to catch Illuminations. It could probably be done within 3 hours, but what would happen if we ran over?

Just a note: if you are valet parking at your original hotel then you are allowed free (other than tip) valet parking at the other resorts. It's really nice. We were staying at YC and went to dinner at Artist Point....just drove up to the front door and they took the car. It was wonderful.

I've always wondered about liability when valet parking with a rental car. Technically speaking, a rental car should not be driven by anyone other than those named on the rental contract. What would happen if the car were damaged when in the custody of the valet? Does anyone know? I've never valet parked just because of concern for the rental car.

I'm not sure about Florida law, but I would imagine the company that the valet parking employee works for (in this case Disney) would be responsible. More than likely, the employee is covered under the employers automobile liability insurance.
