We're staying off site at the Orange Lake Country Club for our April Vacation. :cool1:
Our plan is to drive to Epcot, park the car there, spend the morning at Epcot, take the monorail to Magic Kingdom later in the afternoon, stay at MK untill closing, 11 pm, take the monorail back to Epcot to get our car and go back to Orange Lake CC. :laundy:
My concern is that Epcot closes at 9 pm. :teacher:
Does the Monorail continue to run to Epcot after 9 pm? :confused3
Would it be a problem leaving the car there untill 11 pm? :confused3
Good luck all,
Joe

They are aware that people do that so it won't be a problem but I would recommend the opposite -- drive to MK in the morning and take the monorail over to Epcot for opening.

That way your car will be ready for you that night when you are ready to leave that night.

Agreed... this would be far easier than parking at Epcot.

The devil's advocate says that people often drive to the first park they are going to visit since making rope drop is easier that way.

Now I'm not sure what happens if the first park closes first and transportation has shut down by the time you leave the second park at closing (e.g. Magic Kingdom at 27:00 hours aka 3 AM following Extra Magic Hours).

If the monorail has shut down for the night, then the park to park buses at the TTC will take you back to EPCOT to get your car.

The EPCOT monorail usually run on nights like that until about midnight.

The park to park buses run until 15 minutes after the last open park is clear of day guests.

I would park where you finish up for the day. We did do what you are suggesting. We parked at Epcot, then went to MK which was open later. When we got to the Monorail station at TTC, the CM asked us why we were going on the Epcot monorail. It was after 10PM. We said our car was parked at Epcot. He said, OK, a monorail will be here shortly.. So they are aware that people do that.

You only have to pay for parking once for the day. You can park in EPCOT then drive over to the MK. Show your parking slip at the MK and you're good to go.

Thanks for your suggestions. :worship:
The reason for parking at Epcot other than visiting Epcot is to avoid driving to the TTC and to avoid as much of the TTC crowd as possible when Mk closes. :laundy:
I just saw on another thread what I was asking about, the Monorail to Epcot stops running 1 1/2 hours after MK closes. :cool1:
Good luck all,
Joe

Even if the Epcot Monorail is running, you need to go from the MK to the TTC. That's where the Epcot Monorail has its northern station.

I didn't think there was an Epcot bus route from TTC.

I thought there were just routes for DHS and DAK.

Is there an Epcot TTC bus route ALL the time or just after the Epcot Monorail closes? Thanks!:)

Sure the monorail runs from the TTC to Epcot, but do the trams continue to run at Epcot to the parking lots long after opening? Or will one be hoofing it if they are parked a long way out?

You will have to walk back to your car..

You are correct, there is not a regular EPCOT route.

That being said, IF the EPCOT monorail has shut down for the night (and it is an hour and a half on NON EMH nights at MK) then the park to park buses at the TTC will take guests to EPCOT. I know this as I have driven the park to park routes many times and this is how it operates.

Another little known fact, If you ask nicely and are the only ones on the bus, the driver may take you from the TTC to a resort for dinner ressies. A lot of this will depend on time of day or resort location. You can almost always get the AK park to park driver to take you to AKL, however, you may need to go to AK first.
